I was part of the 1st Armored Training Brigade at Knox as I spent my years as a Cavalry Scout...never heard this story before it was a great read...thanks for posting

That was real interesting, I had never heard of Lafayette Pool either.

Good read, but I have my doubts about the claims made in it. The 3AD pages are known to have some things that are questionable, and the fact that they state Pool and his crew destroyed 258 enemy vehicles in 81 days seems a bit far-fetched. That is over 3 a day if you do the math :roll:

This is pretty common though, for all sides to have embellished figures and I alsways try to take these accounts with a grain of salt and just try and get the basic princilple of what I am reading rather than put any weight behind the numbers claimed.
