That is one of the coolest videos I have seen in along time..although if you tried using those at night during a secret ops mission...you would prolly be seen for miles..

Great video!
Funny this should come up, I was just at the Blue Angels show in Memphis this past weekend & was dissapointed that when their C130, "Fat Albert" took off, the JATOs didn't fire! Turns out they no longer use them, not sure why.
Last time I saw them, 10 years or so ago, they did use JATO & the results were spectacular!

Last I had heard, word was that Fat Albert's airframe was starting to show stress from all the repeated assisted take offs, so they decided to stop doing them. This was some time after the decision was made to stop using the correct term RATO for (R)ocket (A)ssisted (T)ake (O)ff. The reasoning behind that decision is less clear.
