Question about US helicopter lights
Question about US helicopter lights
Is the tail, white light a flashing light? Hoping people working on/with Blackhawk and Kiowa can answer, it is for a custom build. Thank you for answer, and if somebody has night picks... I'm also looking for picks showing the lights in the UH-60 cargo room.
Re: Question about US helicopter lights
The Tail Anti-Collision Light (Red) and the IR Strobe (White) are together in one unit. The White on the Bottom and the Red on top. They can be set up in about a dozen or so different configuations. Most being Solid during the Day and flashing at night.

Re: Question about US helicopter lights
Thank you Tambo for this info.
I've noticed these particular lights, but didn't realize this double function white/red strobe light on my picks. Sure it's not possible to find something like that for my modell helicopter. I've just had a look at aviation international rules for nav lights, it seems that there is an additional white solid light at the end of the tail. So, I'll be making a red collision warning strobe on the upper part of the tail fin and a white nav light at the most rear part. As a modeller, we can only make something not far from reality, hoping for credible compromise.
Thanks again, Chris

Re: Question about US helicopter lights
Are you going to do the RED and Blue position lights on each side? Those would be cool and some green cockpit NVG lights.

Re: Question about US helicopter lights
Yes!
But it's a very long work to slip the wires through the different parts of this helicopter. Had to open the main undercarriage covers for the red and green Nav lights (it's a very small place), cockpit and cabin green lights are now allmost mounted, red anti-collision strob lights are ready... I'm still trying to put 2 electro-motors to move the rotors, and a lot of other improvements are on the way: working safety belts, many antennas... For a finished work, I think I'll need about 6 months, so please wait for picks!
