Check out this film commissioned circa 1966-67 by the USAF... "The Twenty-Five Hour Day" a short (about 26 min.) film focused on the Republic F-105 Thunderchief in action in Southeast Asia. You can make the film full screen by clicking the little rectangle in the lower right hand corner of the video window, and the image quality is surprisingly good for such an old reel of cellulose, at least on my system it is. The F-105 was an amazing and highly versatile aircraft for it's day that was employed in missions it was never intended or particularly well suited for, but excelled in nevertheless, and the Thud pilots were among the bravest of the brave. The film is fairly heavy in "patriotic" propaganda like overtones, but taken in the context of the times in which it was produced, it's quite understandable and IMO does not detract from the film in general. An interesting piece with great vintage combat footage of this historic airplane.
