Kruse WWII Victory Museum - wow...

Post by grunt1 » Sat Jun 12, 2010 6:13 pm

I was looking for museums where I might find an actual German Ford Maultier, heck an Opel would have been nice. I thought maybe Europe somewhere, perhaps Russia. Little did I know that versions of both Maultiers and much much more were only about 2 hours away from my house.

Mr. Kruse apparently purchased a significant European collection about three years ago, constructed a building and opened up a museum in Auburn, Indiana.

They have about 100 or more vehicles, all from WWII, mostly German, Italian, or captured French. Many are the only ones currently known to exist.

I will post more pictures over the next several days and weeks.

I haven't had time to upload the rest of my pictures, but here is a link to someone that took a lot of photos. This place is truly a gem and completely unique if you want to see this much stuff in one place. Especially if you are interested in all the rest of the vehicles, other than tanks..

If I remember right this is the one over by Vincennes. You guys should check out the ww2 events they have there. They are not that bad check out the T.S.G. website. A good event to go to would be Lowell Indiana in May. That event is hosted by the H.R.S. If any of you guys are interested in giving it a try I have plenty of extra gear. My unit does the 4TH I.D. Co. E. Its pretty cool I have been doing ww2 and civil war reenacting for about 15 to 16 years now. Its funny I haven't ordered any yet but one of our guys in Civil War actually took pictures of us and had 1/32nd figures of us made. I am trying to work with him to take pics of the WW2 unit. If you want to check them out the are made by Cunningham Collectibles, they are labeled as the 44th Tenn.
