I found a couple of clips on Utube, just wondering if anyone knows what movies these are from.

Here are the links.

I have this DVD set, it's excellent but unfortunately there is no studio release available with English subtitles yet. Be careful searching around ebay, there was once a guy in China selling bootleg copies w/subtitles, but I would avoid these, low quality and poorly translated, not to mention illegal. In addition to the russiandvd listing on ebay it's also available direct from the website, and cheaper too. I've dealt with these guys before many times, they are located in Brooklyn NY, and are prompt and reliable, so buy with confidence. Even without the subtitles this is a great set, and I highly recommend it for Eastern front fans.

never heard of this before; looks quite interesting. In the youtube clip not one shot of a t-34, which is strange.

5 dvd's for $30 is a good deal. Have to pick this up. Good chance to practice my russian too.
i never met an airplane i didn't like...

Don't recall seeing any Russian armor in "Shtrafbat", only german. Red Army Penal battalions mostly fought as infantry if memory serves me, and were given the most dangerous jobs like clearing minefields etc., and this seems to be reflected in the movie as well, as I don't remember seeing any armor support. If you want T-34's I might suggest "Zvezda" (The Star) I know for sure it has numerous T-34/85's in it, and it is available with English subtitles...
