Project Red Baron Reports

Post by ostketten » Tue Nov 02, 2010 3:58 pm

The "Project Red Baron" reports were the US Air Force's answer to the US Navy's "Ault reports" which resulted in the establishment of the Navy's "Top Gun" fighter weapons school. The Air Force conducted an exhaustive study of air-to-air encounters in Southeast Asia titled "Project Red Baron" and the impact of Project Red Baron recommendations on the Air Force resulted in significant improvements in training such as creation of "Operation Red Flag" at Nellis AFB and establishment of "Aggressor Squadrons" worldwide to provide Dissimilar air combat training. Great reading for anyone with an interest in modern jet combat encounters and tactics over the skies of Vietnam. These can be downloaded for free in Adobe PDF format from the links provided below. Be patient when downloading, it takes 30 secs. or so for the file to appear before it can be saved, due to the slow US Government server...
