U.S. MRAP Armored Vehicle in Iraq

Post by grunt1 » Sun Feb 17, 2008 11:17 am

Cool Humvee replacement with anti-mine and anti-IED protection.. Appears there are over 2000 of these in service in Iraq and Afghanistan. Would look great in 1:18..

I'm not speaking ill of the vehicle at all, but I do have to ask, which one is it? Those two pictures aren't of the same vehicle, at least, not with enough similarity to be considered interchangable. The first seems to lack the unique underbody shaping that is supposed to be such a key part of the MRAP. Perhaps one is a specialized variant, or a pre-production model? In either case, I'm going to have to disagree, I don't think it would make a good 1:18 vehicle at all. Not even worth producing in 1:18. Now 1:32, like all the rest of my collection, that's another story...
