I have his phone number now. Will give him a call in next day or two (as soon as they enable overseas calls on my phone).

I spoke with SB. He is alive and well but has a lot going on in real life. We should hear from him soon.

Just an update to this.
I have still not seen or heard from SteelBonnet since this thread was started.
I had thought he would return and at least say hi and settle up on the deals he made with some of the members of this board.
Grunt1 was great enough to dig up his phone number for me. I think I will try to contact him this week.

I will keep you posted.

Hi,

I was also in a trade with Jason. I sent him the 222 armored car that I built in trade for a motorcycle and sidecar.

I know that his mother passed away at the time of my trade so I just thought to give him time.

I am not out any money, only cardboard, glue and time, but stuff like this just makes you wonder what people are thinking sometimes.

That sucks..I've seen your custom work and it was great - shame you didn't get anything in return for it.

Jason has been doing this for a while...I think some people just didn't want to say anything because he was a long-time member and pretty good guy...

Hate to hear about stuff like this. BST is based on trust and hobbyists helping eachother out. I guess if your real life friends can stab you in the back so can people who seem like "really nice guys" on the net. I hope this turns out positively for you all but, it doesn't look that way. :(

I wonder his idea of soon is...
We all have real life. Sadly, I think it is safe to say he is just another rip-off artist..

After a lightning strike, I was out off the WWW for months.

If somthing happened, my wife and family comes first. I just spent a week in the hospital with my MIL due to an incompetent doctor. (No WWW access)

If I had dealings, I would however find a way to let you know what is going on.

I would hate to get back on, too "Rogue you SOB" and "Get a Rope"

This is not one month. This is 6 months since first report, and has been going on for a while before that. I'm all for giving someone the benefit of the doubt but sometimes you have to just accept reality. As I said, I know it is hard b/c SB has been around a while and was always a cool guy and really into the hobby. But we can't ignore what has happened..

Libraries have computers you can use to get to SSHQ and at least post a quick message. Friends have computers, schools..etc etc. "Oh noes my internets is blown up" is no excuse, especially if the guy knows how people are feeling screwed over.

Like I stated before, Steelbonnet is a scumbag just like Jerry Napier aka: Bob Hughes.
The difference between them is that Jerry Napier was caught. Until proven different Steelbonnet is scum in my book.
Like it or not!

Since this came up in another thread, just wondering if anyone has talked to SB in the last 3-4 months? Or, heard from him on any of the other boards?

Your lucky to be able to hop on a train to England Alf. Maybe you could plan a vacation in his AO. How much do you think it would cost for the trip from Paris to London?

Not too bad if you could roll that cost into a holiday of some sort.
