Thanks, Aferguson!
1:18 Pathfinder has yet to pay me for XD stuff I sent to him in early July for his 13 year old son's birthday. I did get email's from him with excuses of him being very sick from eating bad fish, and when more time went by with no payment, I get email's that he was in a bad car accident, and when more time went by, I get email's that his sister got killed in a car accident, etc, etc.
I gave him the benefit of the doubt, kept giving him more time, emailed him that I'd even PAY for the return of the package...but I GOT HOSED!
So beware of 1:18 Pathfinder!
Here's the mailing address 1:18 Pathfinder gave me:
S. Wolff
7933 Basswood Place
Ft. Wayne, IN 46835
So beware! I learned my lesson the hard way!!

With a few exceptions, I have personally delt with (Grunt1), what is with Indiana, XD and con artists???

Sorry you got hosed, holensock. It sucks! Each of us have had our run in with people like this on the board or on Ebay.

Is the XD stuff you sent him replaceable??
Is there something we can do for you?

Thank you, Razor!! You're a good man for this offer. Digger already took care of the replacement. You guys ARE THE BEST here!! Everyone has since I joined here!! That's why I jumped the gun and tried to help out 1:18 Pathfinder and he took advantage of the good people here just to get a couple of free XD's. In a way, I'm glad that if someone had to be scammed , that it was me and not someone who would've LOST a lot more!
But it's people like you and digger and aferguson, and ALL the others who make this place a GREAT place to b/s/t!!! I like aferguson's new warning policy!
And with this post, you've gone to show people like 1:18 Pathfinder, that you're out there to HELP us that need something! There's no need to steal!
So THANK YOU AGAIN for the offer!!! A BIG tip of the helmet to ya, Razor!!!!

Well it's a sad day to find another "brother" gettin' shafted, as to the guys on this board? they are beyond doubt some of the finest guys you would ever want to meet.

I case your new here or do not remember................... a few years back my home was destroyed by fire........lost ove 200 1/18 scale cars and all my XD. and quite frankly everything else.

I got to the library...and let a notice out that I would not be around as often...............Got a message from GP to give him a call.......I did he he wanted my transit address...........next thing I know these guys took up a collection of cash, food...all kinds of things........My wife and I had tears running down our faces.....and I will never forget what my wife said when the packages arrived. As tears flowed down her face she said, "Honey these people don't even know us.........and look how they care!!"

So what ever you need I'm sure either I or someone else on the board can come to your aid....one way or another.

Like some else posted a few days ago...............let's not let a few bad apples spoil this barrell...........

Sincerely, Kirk

Funny reading about this. I had an offer by a guy called Bob Hughes from Richmond Indiana asking to buy my Zero for his sons 13th Birthday in late June. I sent the Zero to him on the 29th June only for him to say that he never received the package and that because he hasn't received anything he cancelled the money order he sent to me in the post.
This gets weirder because in an earlier email to me he told me that he sent greenbacks in a shoebox via insured mail for $200US. Very contradictory.
The Japanese Zero cost me all up around $150 Australian for the purchase of it and the postage to America, not to mention the custom smoke detail and relentless hours of painstakingly painting the paint chips.
I have contacted his local post office, US Customs, Australian Customs, My local Post office and my Postal Service. Looks like this package is MIA. You've all seen the boxes these are in, impossible to go missing.
I sent it in good faith that cash was on the way only to be stiffed. I'm quite upset actually, I don't earn alot and the money from this was going to help me out with my RAAF 1:18 Hornet purchase. I bought the hornet thinking the money was on it's way. So now I'm down money for the hornet, the zero and the postage, some nearly $400 Australian. Not happy at all. If anyone has had any dealings with this character and had success can you please PM me or something. I mainly collect 1:6 and never had a problem but this was my first 1:18 sale and it went sour.

:?
I am so sorry to hear about your getting ripped off but man you should have come forward sooner - I have a feeling you could have saved a few people on some other deals. Indeed, that fellow is a scam artist and I wish you the best of luck getting any recourse, although there is likely none. I think perhaps the only answer to all this would be to hold that proposed XD gathering at the Richmond Hilton... 8)
Again, sorry to hear about the scam, that's a crappy way to be introduced to this board. Hopefully contacting the authorities won't have the usual no result.
Oh, and didn't Paratrooper have some phone #s last time? If those could be posted again that would be great, or any of the addresses people sent to.

Austeyr,
I am very sorry this con artist got you. He scammed this board about 2 years ago with the same thing: I never got your package, so I am cancelling your money order or paypal payment. But you say he said he sent you money via mail? Strange.

can you actually 'cancel' a money order? I've never heard of that.

The thing with Paypal is that you can only be granted three reversals of payment per calendar year. So, for scammers it is of limited use....but i suspect a lot of them don't know that when they first cook up the scam. Plus it leaves a nasty paper trail should they ever be brought to trial, so if i were a scammer i wouldn't really want to do it using Paypal.

Often it's the 'oh i really need this in a hurry for my kid's birthday' excuse, or some other story to get you to shp quickly, to get you to send before receiving payment.
