EXTRA PARTS BOX...Small items for sale/trade.

Post by Razor17019 » Wed Apr 05, 2006 12:19 pm

Ok, let's give this Parts Box idea a try. See how useful it is to members. As far as having 'someone' clean up the old posts, well, the individual who made the post can be responsible for this. Everyone has the ability to edit and delete their own posts. Icons for this are in the top right corner of the individual post.

So, let's see how it goes..

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

To all:
Had a brainstorm of sorts. Ok it was just a small drizzle.

There are many of us here that have every 1/18 figures, vehicle, plane etc made by 21st Century and BBI and others plus duplicates.
As we collect, we gather an extra arm, rifle, canteen, fuel tank etc. in our parts box or boxes.

But for the new members just starting out, they don't have that extra piece to fix or replace something that is missing or broken.

So, what do you guys think about a sticky under the Sell/Trade section for just loose parts that we are looking for or want to sell?

You could post:
Selling-
(5)S1 Canteens - 1.00

**********************

Needed-
(3)Vietnam flashlights

Something like that...
What do you guys think?
P51 and AFerg- what are your thoughts?

As a side note, can we have someone clean up (remove) the posts that:
A-Sold
B-No response within 2wks-month

I think it's a useful tool for others to acquire the small items that you otherwise wouldn't get.

Both are good solid ideas. I think we all have small parts as well as the larger stuff. So something like this would help ALL.

The clean up goes without saying I think.

Does anyone else make casts of these types of parts? I made casts of a bunch of modern BBI pouches, canteens, ect for use on custom figures. I can't exactly share copies with anyone right now, since I'm still stuck in Iraq, but I could possibly trade off extras when I get home this fall...
Someone else should think about casting these type of parts. Especially since I don't do WWII and have not cast any of that stuff.
I'll see if I have any pictures of casts to share...

Don,
You doing good and keeping your head down over there?
We miss you back here. Be safe!

If you could post a pic from where you are, I would be interested in seeing your casts.

I don't know how to cast, but would really like to learn.
Anyone else out there cast items???

Here is a picture of a few cast spares I have with me. I have dozens of each and others at home and once I get back there I may have to offer them up as trade fodder.
Also, here is a link to a great tutorial on making molds and casting parts: http://www.ironcowprod.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=319
There are also some good tips on this subject and other customizing topics at http://www.ffurg.com/

As well as the Dusty Trail HALO figures.

Has anyone got a BBI F/A 18 or F16 Pilot spare or moreso the helmet-head with hose??

This would make also a Great HALO helmet :D

Failing that the GI JOE Pilot helmet that came with the Thunderwing & later carded Pilot figures??

Thank`s

Looking for 21C Vietnam AK-47's for the boatload of NVA I have. 10 RPG's vs one M41 just doesn't seem fair. :-)

I know that in the real conflict the NVA used quite a wide variety of weapons from WWII to French made SMG's, but I pattern most of my dioramas after the Rambo movies so I'm sure you understand. ;-)

Grunt,
Have you seen Marauder Inc. on Ebay?
He makes a wide variety of weapons to fit 3 3/4 GI Joes, but fit our XD guys too.
Here is a link to his store:

Yes. They don't (at least from the online photo's) seem as good as the original XD items. I need to order a few and see them in first person (after paint applied, etc..) to make the call.

Thanks for the reminder!
