Seems to say 1/72, not 1/16.

Also says it's 27" long which is 1/16 (or thereabout).

Looks like the cat is out of the bag; it will probably end up near a more normal price now.

It would be out of place next to all my 1/32 and my 1/18 Tiger and Panther, but for the right price I can't say no.

........... the seller does'nt have a very good track record either. The lucky winner will have to deal w/ the consequences and be lucky if it arrives in one piece if @ all. "Check his record".

I hope somebody from the board won it, has the potential to be a great deal!

Yeah. When I first saw it at $2 USD, I literally had a heart attack. Thankfully, I don't collect 1/16. Glad I can help out some forum members who are dying to have this coveted piece.

Hope it is 1/16 scale. Hate to think of some one paying that price and a 1/72 scale thirty buck tank shows up in the mail
Could not think of anything to put here.

I don't see the machine gun, Jochen Peiper and the other figures, extra treads, the tank traps and other accessories.
For what it's worth, here some ebay prices for the FOV Peiper King Tiger complete with all accessories including the wood crate over the last three weeks:

1. New--$730 plus $75 shipping
1. Used--$1,500 plus $75 shipping
3. Used--$1,325 plus $60 shipping

Huh?! I am assuming that those prices are "offered" prices and NOT sold prices. Otherwise, why would anybody buy Used tank for $1500 and New tank for $730? Also, Since New tank is $730, is Used tank for $1000+ a realistic price?

No, they are sold prices. I'm guessing you don't spend much time on ebay or you'd realize that prices can vary wildly on an item sometimes. It just depends on how many people spot a particular auction and bid on it.

If no one had realized what this one actually was it could have sold for peanuts and someone would have been very happy. But as it turned out - perhaps with help from Heer mentioning it here - folks realized it was not some cheap 1/72 toy but the bigger, better 1/16 version.

You have to buy a used item at over $1,000 when the "new" items are sold out. I've seen them up on eBay for up to $1,800.

End price was $305, which is very good price if it is what we think it might be. Consider the sellers feedback. A very big IF.

TPARKHERE:

The three prices I listed are the "sold" prices.
I have ebay "sold" prices on the Peiper King Tiger going back to July, 2011.

As for the $305 price, as I pointed out earlier, based on the one photo, the Peiper King Tiger appears to be missing a bunch of accessories. Back in December, 2011, a used Peiper King Tiger with all the accessories sold for $399.99.

It is true that ebay prices do vary A LOT. I'm no expert on the FOV 1/16 KT, but I knew it was expensive. Hope some of you guys got a chance to own this. You're lucky that I don't collect 1/16, if I did collect 1/16....

Three days ago, an FOV 1/16 first-release (non-Peiper) King Tiger sold for $300 but some of the pegs on the turret for the spare treads were broken and the shipping cost was $176.

Well, it wasn't me who won the auction. I wasn't going above $100, but man that would've been nice to get for $50!

(CAT),
Actually, I buy and sell on Ebay all the time. For now, I am only concentrating on 1/72, 1/35 and 1/32 armors and planes. Even though I have most of 1/32 FOV armors, I have never checked availability nor the prices for 1/16 FOV armors. $1000+ for them are an eye-opener for me.

dragon53,
Thanks for the info. One of these days, when I see a reasonably prices 1/16 FOV armors, I will buy them.
