Under the existing guidelines set up by aferguson I don’t think there is any kind of punishment that can be set down here for this transaction. Ultimately the rules should be revisited with harsher terminology for offending newbs that break the rules. Under the current policy it only mentions that repeat offences will result in ban. Does this just mean repeated attempts to sell or is this including actual sales that went through after the new member was made aware of the policy? It does not mention anything about members that go behind the scenes and purchase from a member in their probationary period.

In actuality there is no way to stop a behind the scenes transaction but we can stiffen up the rules to better discourage this type of activity. At the very least this topic should have been locked after the offender was notified of his error. Also if you decide to circumvent the rules you shouldn’t post it in the open forum unless you want to see another thread like this pop up. All it will do is encourage others to go down the same path and they might not have the same experience.

In the end it’s the buyers responsibility to be smart minded and realize that the rules are actually set up to help keep them safe and not punish them or keep them from the honey hole. (Yes I got that from American Pickers!) If they decide to buy anyway then that’s their choice but the thread should be locked to discourage more members from going down the same road. No offence meant toward any members involved here. This is a slippery slope that hasn’t been touched on in the open forum before. I think its best to just keep it quite if you have a transaction with a probationary board member.

If you decide to trade with someone who is less than 6 months and get burned.....don't come crying to me about it.
This is the key to the rule. Our community doesn't allow BST within 6 months. Otherwise not much else we can do.

What someone does off board is not my concern its that this post is still up and people know about it and can therefore contact Sig whenever they want. All other posts where either locked or removed yet this one isnt. Is it who he is or what is offered that is keeping it open. Doesnt matter it now should be removed just to be fair to all the others who had to wait.
