Gun-Barrel needed for M-48 Patton

Post by MG-42 » Mon Apr 10, 2006 12:30 am

I need a gun-barrel for my M-48 Patton tank. ....Mine is warped beyond reproach. I can't get a replacement from 21st.Century. They said they don't stock these anymore. .....Does somebody have a beat-up broken Patton with the (gun-barrel) still intact ? ... or just happen to have an X-tra one handy ? ..... Short of having to buy another tank,...I'd rather try to save the only one I got. ....The rest of my tank is perfect ! .....Can someone help me out here, please ? ....... Thanks alot ! ^ MG

Unfortunately your only choice might me to have the barrel custom fabbed. I believe some of the outfits that make aftermarket aluminum barrels for 1/35 scale kits can also do custom work upon request, and it may not be as expensive as you might imagine, I suppose it depends on how badly you want to rehab your tank. BTW, I just gotta ask....how did you manage to warp your current barrel???

HAHAHA !! .... I did'nt warp it. ...Apparently it was sent to me in this condition. I can send it back,..but I've opted to try and save it first. .... Regards, ^ MG

Ouch!! Well, at least you did say that you have the option of sending it back if you want to, but where did you find one for sale?? I have been looking for an M48 without much luck and people tell me they are pretty scarce. Any info is appreciated.
