My hunch paid off again (my post mentioning when a rash of items show up on ebay all of the sudden, within a week I find them on the shelves) and I managed to find the new FOV Paladins/Amtracks/MLRS at the Frederick TRU (left one of each) and the Gaithersburg TRU (again, left one of each). So get 'em while you can!

Well...thank god for 1/72 and 1:144 keeping the products comin'. Managed to find the Dragon F15's (C's and E) with figures and tarmac section, as well as the new Can-Do Apache, Longbow Apache and Blackhawk, all at the Hobby Works store in Laurel. Have yet to pop open either of the F-15's I picked up (one C and one E) but they appear and is indicated to include extra weaps, and various figures. Some have ground crew types, security types, and the E has "A" pilot. Dragon really needs to produce some pilot/wso/nfo figures, both modern and for the ww2 aircraft.

WM 21st Century

Post by LWP » Tue May 31, 2005 9:12 am

One WM in Birmingham, AL has had the smaller playsets.
I wish they would get the counterattack with the larger bldgs. in.

I bought the Cold Steel KingTiger, JagdTiger and the P40 in 1/32 there over the weekend. All three had nice paint schemes.
I collect 1/32 WWII.

Walmarts in Tulsa/Broken Arrow..

Post by hworth18 » Tue Jun 07, 2005 9:41 am

Most of the local Walmarts in my AO have the new 32x planes.. I picked up the P-40 and the Me-262.

The Super Walmart in Broken Arrow has all the new 32x vehicles and planes.. I didn't get either the King Tiger or Jagdtiger just for the fact that I didn't care for the paint on the King Tiger.. The Jagdtiger has a GREAT paint job, but I just couldn't get past the inaccuracies in the Jagdtiger hull..

atlanta walmart 1/32nd sightings

Post by mikeg » Fri Jun 10, 2005 7:19 pm

the current crop of 1/32 planes and tanks are readily available at the several walmerts in town i frequent. the jajd and king tigers, m113s, 88s, jagdpanthers are easy to find. also, one wm for some reason has 10-12 each of the wirblewinds, mobilwagons. panzer 111L, and a few 8 ton trucks. its apparent for the most part that one box of assorted pieces go to each of the walmarts. around here the 1/32nd stuff does not exactly fly off the shelves; even the brand new stuff. there are still approx 4-6 p-40's i see every couple days; unusual since i thought this was discontinued- maybe-maybe not-. one store got a box? of the 1/32nd kits- 15? the chance encounter has the stug, squad is same as bca picture, counter attack has 2nd scheme panther w/421 on turret not tiger 1 like in bca pic.

Heads up to those of you in Md/Va/DC/Pa:

As I just mentioned in the "Tuesday Morning" thread, I strongly urge any of you with those store within driving distance, to hit as many as you can. Reason being, they're clearing out Corgi items, and we're not talkin' the cheap stuff. I picked up a 32nd Mustang and a 1/72 B-17 (Memphis Belle) as well as several 50th scale tanks, 72nd History Channel Aircraft, Tactical strike items and more. The prices are amazing, so get 'em while they're hot.

Stores I checked and a rundown on what was on shelves:
Laurel - 32nd Mustangs x 2 remained, many Tactical strike pieces, several of the History Channel 1/72 aircraft

Silver Spring (Georgia Ave store) - Tactical Strike pieces, several of the History Channel ac

Rockville - Tactical strike pieces, Matchbox AC and Tanks

Muddy Branch Road, Gaith. - Tactical Strike, 50th Shermans

Help!

Post by digger » Thu Jun 23, 2005 9:35 am

Didn't want to start a new thread but need some quick help/advice. Found some fov 1/32 diorama sets in my AO (NYC) and was wondering if the tanks/vehicles were removable (do they come off the base)? How are these sets (why are they always marked down?), and does the turret turn, etc....Thanks!

Absolutely. They are held on by screws . The turrets turn, tracks roll, etc.....

Of all of the 1:32 stuff I'll probably get rid. of, the Tiger I diorama will not be one of them. I love the thing to death...

Just checked my AO today. Between two Wal Marts, there was only 3 32x vehicles: a Jagdpanther, 88mm gun and a Jagdtiger. I can't tell whether or not there was any of the newer items at some point a few weeks ago as I just got back from school.

The hobbytown store had a good selection of Dragon 1:72 tanks, and some 32x BBD P-51s.

A TRU I checked had some FOV M-16 Gun carriages and the M-113 Improved TOW vehicle.

Nothing really new and I'm not worried!

Anyone in my AO (Md/Va/DC Metro area) Hobby Works received the new Dragon F-18F's and the Dragon F-4U-ID's. Picked up a couple of both yesterday, and per usual, Dragon has come through with a couple of winners.

A couple Target stores in Fresno have the FOV M109 Improved TOW Vehicles, as well as the AAVP. There were also the blister carded jeeps & scwimmwagens. I also found and walked away with one LAV - which is a very nicely done vehicle, save no interior for the troop compartment.

Today I went for 1/18 stuff at Walmart, and they had two huge stacks of 32X playsets. On was called "Meeting Encounter" if I remember correctly, and the second I don't recall the name, but came with a destroyed building, german gun crew with gun, and some allied figures.

New ones or old?

Post by digger » Wed Jul 13, 2005 5:15 pm

Morian -
Was it "Chance Encounter" or a new playset?
Was the gun a Pak 40, or smaller? Thanks!

Thanks for the correction, digger. Yes, it was "Chance Encounter", and I believe the second set had the Pak40. I just found it interesting since there were about 10-15 of each set. I hadn't seen these before.

Thanks - no correction, just hoping for the new sets soon :D
It is odd that some stores just get SO many...and of course I hit 4 stores last week with zero...I know, we've heard it all before...

PS - When did FOV get in MOTORWORKS boxes? I am new to this scale but I've never seen it at WM....

We got the new series 5 DAK and British series 2 figures today. The British
figure's paint jobs are really poor. The DAK figures are tolerable. Good poses for both sets.

Harry,

"NEW" playsets? As in the new ones from the pics at this years toy fair???

If so, what ones did you see? How many different types are out? Any new vehicles in them? New troop poses?

I wonder when we'll see those in Columbus? Same with the new 32X figure sets.

We didn't get the deluxe broken down to 4 playsets here.

C2000,
I honestly didn't look at them too closely.. But I did see probably 3 different playsets.. One had the Stug IV, one of the others had a Panther.. I will probably be going back to the Walmart tonight, so I can check a little closer then..
