I stopped by the morrow TRU about 3 weeks ago and finally picked up the BBI old crow I had ignored forever for 28-29.00. There was another still there, BBI peg figures, bits and pieces of FOV stuff, not much else that I can remember. The old crow is in pitiful shape with a broken prop blade amongst other things. Thats in Stukas area, he'll probably have a good idea about whats up- birddog, too. I'll quit speaking on behalf of other folks, now.

In my AO we finally got a new 32x playset "Monte Casino Battle in the Mountains" with a tan/green Sherman and some Italians. Not sure how old this one is but it's the first time it's been here.

The Houston Target at Meyerland has many of the new FOV models---plastic 1/32 Abrams, Bradley, M109, UH-60, P-51, etc. They also have the 1/18 half-track plus the 1/18 Sherman, Abrams and Bradley.

I think you may have found a new playset... I have never seen or heard of this. Perhaps 21C is not dead.

Hi vmf214, Can you post a pic?

No, it came out the same time as the Kursk Battle set.

Here's a link to one Rezzed has on ebay:

Wasn't the Kursk set a 2007 release? Cassino is dtd 2008. Anyway it's still new for my AO and is the only new thing wm has restocked in 21st stuff around here. We were overstocked at about all stores with the Kursk sets, Artillery emplacement, Battle in the Hedgerows, etc, but this one never showed till now.

Wow, I never saw this in my AO and I can't remember anyone talking about it on the forum. And I really need another Sherman...number 14!

Saw this a couple days ago at a WallyMart near me. I don't collect that scale so I didn't pick it up. Don't remember the price.

The Monte Cassino playset was also re-released as a Four Star Military playset for Target last year.

I've been hitting all the local Targets and cleaning up on the FOV 1/32 clearance stuff.
I also stopped for the heck of it at a T-R-U. Quite disappointing. You'll remember when the stores had an entire aisle for 'military' toys. Now the aisle has been invaded by Transformers, Star Wars and Indiana Jones stuff. There were still loads of 21st Century Jagdtigers...

I went to a couple of Walmarts and finally found something. I found DAK figures for $3 a 3 pak, along with Chinese infantry. I left the German mortar squad. I also picked up the Monte Cassino set for $15. I like the Sherman.
I'm contemplating trying to covert the Chinese into NVA....

I stopped at an old model shop in my area and everything was 40% off. The gentleman who ran it died and his son and mother are not going to continue with the shop. In addition to models this place has plastic 1/32 Civil War and WWII soldiers. They also have the 1/35 soldier model kits from Dragon, Tamiya, etc.
I picked up TSSD, Classic Toy Soldiers and IMEX Union and Confedarate soldiers. I also picked up Glencoe WWII Soviet army and Waterloo Italian soldiers, plus Classic barbed wire and Imex horse teams. I also picked up Airfix DAK and British Army kits. Great find, but it's sad to see all the hobby and model shops disappearing.

I've gone to a couple of Kmarts by me and they had no FOV. The Walmarts are now completely devoid of 21st . TRU has nothing new. I was hoping they would have started restocking some of the FOV.... 2 1/2 ton trucks and Elefants.... Target has only the Bravo Team, but only the modern vehicles. The Bravo boxes show WWII vehicles...

I never liked the 21st JagdTiger but since 21st may be going the way of the Hairy Mammoth, I'm going to TRU this weekend to pick one up.

Surprise at WM

Post by bboc » Mon Feb 16, 2009 7:59 pm

In the Glen Burnie, MD WalMart, there were four of the Japanese newer fighters (not Zeroes) on Clearance at $4.99. But they still had two of the Italy Sherman play sets, two of the large howitzer playsets, two of the howitzers by themselves and a Long Tom, but those were all at regular prices.

I went to Meijers today and they had FOV figures and the 'small' vehicles, Jeep, Schwimmwagon, for $7.88. The 'medium' vehicles were for $17.99.

I saw all of the Italian fighter planes at a local Walmart yesterday. I did pick up two of the original Walmart "hanging plastic" US M-10 Tank detroyers. I had only seen these items maybe 5 years ago. I have to think Walmart is sending out the last of the warehouse items.
