I picked up this "Kursk-Defeat in the East" set at TRU for $19.99, it has a repainted Panther and four Soviet infantrymen, I think it's a good value, and the tank has some nice rust effects on the tracks and tow cables. They also had the "Tunisia Operation Torch" set with light OD green Stuart tank and some DAK/American soldiers, same price. I also picked up an FOV German Schwimmer (Eastern Front 1943) for $9.99, it's packed in an action series box, but as all the items you would expect to find in an enthusiast version, a great deal for 10 bucks IMO, and I may get another. Click the thumb for an enlarged view.

Visited a local WM yesterday and encountered an oddity. Previously I had noted they had several of the new FW 190 in the mottled grey paint plus a couple of the new Mrs Bonnie P-51Ds. Well, yesterday I was shocked to see three or four Zero's now on the shelf. What made it strange was that they were all different versions. Then I looked closer and noted they were all in boxes that originally contained the FW's.
Obviously someone bought the FW's and returned the boxes with Zero's but for the life of me I cannot figure out why.
Why would someone trade several different Zero's for several identical FW 190's? :? :? :? :? :? :?
Go figure...
Geoff

Yeah, the old "switcheroo", I've seen this a couple of times, and I always check carefully before I buy anything now.

Found the P47 Bubble Top "Shilling" today in a single pack at the Normal, Illinois Walmart. This had been available only in a dogfight set.

Hey Ray, how about a sticky to announce all new walmart finds and repaints that only show up at the Normal and Washington? location WM's.
It's several months at least before those items manage to show around here, if at all.

Totally agreed! The same with the TRUs in his area as well. Hell, the small retailers often seem to get the stuff rmoore finds before they show up in my area stores. What gives??

It's the super secret walmart trucking hub buried under the evil neo-con Republican national committee HQ. If you were a trucker, would'nt you rather drop your sh.t off at the nearest walmart instead of across the state

Found two of the new 32x P-51Ds in the "Miss Bonnie" scheme today at one Fresno Wal Mart and then three more at the Clovis Wal Mart :D These are the first I've seen. The paint on some of the planes was in decent shape while the otherw had uneven markings and obvious corrections on the silver paint. Nice looking plane and it looked better in person, so I picked one up. I think I can get used to the "Mrs Bonnie" paintscheme

Wow! Both look nice! Hopefully these will show in my area soon enough. I'm glad 21c found some other schemes for the Spitfire that aren't pink

Swung by a Target store today in Niagara Falls NY to see what FOV stuff they had. I managed to pick up a 1/72nd M3 Grant and Sdkfz 251. Tommorow I'm heading back over and if possible I might stop in again and get an M-113.

I found a couple of RAF/Polish P-51b/c's and more 1/48th 109g-10s and k-4s. Also, a darker grey and dak scheme of 148th ausf d & h tanks
