It took 16 hours to move yesterday - from 10:00am til 2:00am this morning. I am tired, I am sore, and my collection is all unpacked. Maybe I'll take some pictures tomorrow and post 'em.

Having them all out like that is a real reality check

By God, there are a lot of them.

At long last, my collection! My hands were sore enough from the 16 long hours of moving on Tuesday... but after opening all of those FoV boxes yesterday (some of them for the first time) my hands feel like they're forty years older than the rest of my body. It was well worth it though.

The entire collection:

Great collection! Is that all? Its a nice, ballanced collectio that isn't too over the top - like mine is

Thank you, tmanthegreat!

Except for a 1:32 Panzer III Ausf L (21st Century) that'll go next to my Matilda II & Grant, that's it.

I'm currently trying to get a few packs of 1:32 and 1:72 FoV soldiers to spice it up a bit. I'm also working on procuring a 1:32 SdKfz 222 (21st Century in Feldgrau) and the other 1:72 Tiger I by FoV (in Normandy colors - 85004). I should really limit what else I add to the collection so as not to go "over the top", as you say.

The only thing that's missing, really, are 1:32 Hanomags and maybe a 1:32 Sherman. I'm waiting for the 21st Century Sherman Firefly, but maybe I'll get one of the FoV Shermans in the meantime to keep the M16 company.

Do you plan on buying some of the 21st tanks?

Just a Cold Steel M7 Priest & the Sherman Firefly, when it comes out.

If the quality of the Tiger II(P) is good enough, I might buy one of those if a model is released with a pleasing paint scheme :)

The FOV Sherman is pretty nice and you may want to consider it. I have the newest version with the sandbags and riders, and like it better than my 21c version

Soldier16S - holy Mary mother 'o GOD, that's a huge collection. Do you just hoard, or do you like creating large-scale miniature battlefields? Because you certainly have enough to make a convincing miniature tank battle!

Regarding my own collection, I went ahead and purchased a FoV M4A3 Sherman (Normandy 1944) and a 21st Century M7 Priest. I have a little room left on the shelf... hopefully the wife won't notice two more?

At this particular time I am just hoarding. The ironic thing about this, is with this much stuff, I have no room for doing anything with it. LOL!

At least you can sneak stuff in. My wife checks to make sure I am not sneaking anything in that I haven't talked about first.

She has been understanding for a long time, but now she is planning to take back the dining room, by force if necessary.

So, it is time to move into the bedroom and the computer room for any extra space I can get my hands on.

Ooops...

Forgot the two Kanonenwagens from FOV and the two additional Hanomag 251s in Italy (I think-they are the tan ones with the black German cross on them) also from FOV.

Also add a JU87B in brown camo to the list, another PAK40 with crew and two mortar sets of US and Germans each; one carded and one with M2/SdKfz 7.

Whew!

I just found out the the eBay seller that I bought the Panzer III from had her entire house (including the eBay business) burn down to the ground, and it turns out she didn't have any sort of insurance for the business. So I probably won't get it after all, but at least the seller is safe and being helped out by her church.

No big deal, PayPal will likely give me my $35 CDN back in due time. The seller asked all of her customers to file PayPal claims if they hadn't received their items...

Who made the Panzer III?

I went by one of our Super Walmarts the other day, and they had 3 of the PzIII tan tanks.

Just trying to help.

It was a 21st Century Panzer III, but it's a lump of melted plastic and metal by now. Oh well, I'm probably better off with the $35 in my pocket :) My shelf is starting to buckle from the weight of it all.

Unfortunately, I've never been able to find 21st Century at a Canadian Wal-Mart before. The most they've had is Forces of Valor 1:72 action series junk that I bought but got rid of eventually.

I think you totally missed what I was trying to say.

IF you want one, I can get it for you. Let me know. I know it was around $15 not counting the sales tax for me, and the shipping to you.

Again, just trying to help.

I could pick it up on the way home from work tomorrow if interested.

Thanks for the offer, Soldier16S - I would appreciate it, but I wouldn't be able to afford it for another week and a half. By that time, they might all be gone.

As you can see on the main list, I've added quite a few more items, which means that I'm running out of shelf space as well as being broke :D I don't know that I should add any more at the moment.... PLUS there's no telling if the eBay seller actually sent the item before her place burnt down. She was leaving feedbacks until May 9th, and I won my item on May 1st... so it might be sloooowly getting to me by mail.

No problem, Milo.

Again, just trying to help.

I am going to have to start limiting myself as well. Got the boot the other day from my company, and will be shaking the papers to see what falls out for new employment.

Uggh. I just hate when this happens.

Puts a damper on anymore 1:32 buying for a while.

Man oh man, am I going to be in trouble with SWMBO if she finds out what I've been up to!

First off, I've pretty much completed my 1:72 FoV collection (SdKfz 251 Ausf. D mit Wurfrahmen 40, T-34/85, SU-122 and M3 Grant) and gotten the last 1:72 Dragon Armor that I really wanted (a Panther F). I don't plan on adding any more 1:72 to my collection, as the new custom-built shelf I bought will just about hold the thirty or so tanks that I have. I'll be postin' a review of one of my little 1:72 tanks this week.

Second, I bought a whack of new 1:32 armour for some reason - as if I didn't have enough already! I managed to pick up two 21C beauts that I've been eyin' - a StuG IV and Henschel King Tiger (both S1). I know I said "ambush camo on a King Tiger? BLEH!" but I really can't wait to see what it looks like when it gets here this week. I picked up a cheap grey 21C SdKfz 7 for the 88mm I'm still dreaming about. I also managed to get my mits on two Panzer IIIs - an old school 21C Panzer III Ausf D with the grey/green camo scheme and FINALLY, a 21C DAK Panzer III Ausf L! While the III D smells like five years of condensed cigarette smoke, the Ausf L is brand new and I'm waitin' for it with a big smile.

By the way, does anyone know how to get that cigarette smell out of plastic toys? I heard that there are spray products that can eliminate the odour, and I'm not exaggeratin' - the III D smells like it cured with some tobacco on a farm somewhere.

Now, I have to admit that I spent way too much on the last item on my want want want list - the last FoV Tiger I (80304) with the knight emblem on the sides of the turret. Now here's the funny part - I had no idea I'd actually win the bloody thing. I just kept bidding up thinking that it'd go for $100 USD like the last one the guy sold a week ago. I guess this time no one wanted it that much - I bought it for a little over $80USD

So the two most expensive items I have now are a $90 USD Tiger I (80204) and a $110 USD Tiger I (80304), if you include shipping.

Yep, I'd better make sure that SWMBO gets a few more pieces of beautiful silver & gold jewellery before our third anniversary this November.
