The Stuka Bomb...

Post by krieglok » Mon Oct 23, 2006 5:43 pm

I was taking a look at one of my new 32x Stukas when it struck me that the "main" bomb seemed a bit small for the plane. I compared it to the 1:18 version hanging from my ceiling and came to the conclusion that the 32x plane has a smaller scale bomb than it`s bigger 1:18 brother. The JU87b`s were able to carry either a 550lb bomb or a 1100lb bomb. I wonder why 21st apparently went with the smaller bomb on the 32x plane? Both carry the additional bombs on the outer wings so I guess that fact didnt make a difference...

The B/R carried a 250kg bomb normally, larger bombs could be carried but were not the standard payload.

With the stronger Dora model a 500kg could be carried in the center rack as the standard payload.

you know let me check up on my Stuka books and I'll find the common load out,

your 32x Stuka came with Aux fuel tanks? I hope so. edit'd the bombloads after checking Ju87 in Action from Squadron. Sorry, wasn't thinking straight when I posted 500 and 1000, was thinking more in stardard measure, than metric.
