A picture of my 1/72 diecast Altaya Famo with trailer pulling a Dragon Armor Stug. Excellent little 1/72 diecast Famo.

Is that one a special subscriber only edition or something ?

I am actually in Spain next week and if I am very lucky I may be able to pick up a couple of the altaya tanks while I am there.

Yes, the Famo and trailer are special edition pieces available to subscribers of some magazine in Spain (not part of the regular releases). I was fortunate to actually find these on Ebay which I had been huntig forever. The regular releases are for sale in newspaper/book stands from what I've been told.

How come we don't have stuff like that here in the States?

I'm not sure, Altaya for some reason doesn't sell their 1/72 diecast tank line anywhere but Spain. You can get their tanks off Ebay but they start at about $20 (about half of that if you get them in Spain yourself).

Maybe I can be of a little help.

I live in Madrid, Spain and the collection was released last year. It is intended to be sold in newsstands, two tanks a month and each costs 9.95 euros (12.20 US$).

There is the possibility of being a subscriber and then they send them the tanks straight to your home. Unfortunately there is no possibility of international shippings.

You can consult their web page (its in spanish) here:

https://www.altaya.es/suscripcion.php?id=105

then you can click on a button labeled
"ver colección" (see collection) about halfway through the page, before the form.

On the new page click on a link that says "Lista de entregas" (Release list) and there you can see the first 32 tanks that they´ll release (the whole colection are 50 tanks)

The Famo is for subscribers only and you get it on the second delivery and on the sixth delivery, I got mine last month and looks great.

If I can I will post some pictures of the tanks.

So the trailer hasn't even been sent out yet? Wonder how the Ebay seller is getting his then? I just checked and the guy/company I got mine off of has 6 more Famo halftracks and 10 more of the trailers available!

I can only tell you what I know from their web page.

I know for sure that Altaya is just a publishing company, not the manufacturer, and the closest thing I´ve seen on the internet are the CDC armour/Matchbox tanks. All the ones that I have from Altaya have the same black base with white letters on it indicating the model, year and regiment/division so maybe they got a good price on an excess of stock and decided to go ahead with the collection.

Besides that I have not been able to get any more information regarding the manufacturer.

I know that Ixo make the 1/72 aircraft for Altaya so maybe they make the tanks as well.

I'd like to buy these models but the postage to Australia is rather expensive for individual items.

I wonder if there are any kind hearted collectors in Spain that could get a set of the WWII models together for me, especially that tank transporter :)
