How About some "not so well known" tanks, 1/72?

Post by Philip » Thu Mar 23, 2006 8:56 pm

I have been reading a small coffee table book published by Barnes and Nobel entitled, Tanks and Armored Fighting Vehicles of WWII. Might I make a suggestion to Dragon, Admiral Toys, and FOV. How about some tanks that are not as well known. How many Tigers do we need? I have all the Dragon Tigers, so I sort of lose credibility here. Nontheless I have listed below some really cool looking tanks. What does the Forum think?

Italy
L3-35/Lf
Carro Armato, any of these
Semovente DA 75/18
Japan
Type 95 Kyugo
Type 97 Chi-Ha
US
M3A1 Stuart III
M3 Lee
M22 Locust - would need a commander to show how small it was
Canada - What!? the Canadians had a tank? Yep. Ram Kangaroo
Russian
T-26A Really cool with dual turrets
T-28
T-35B It had 5 turrets!
France
Char B1
Hotchkiss H-35
Somua S-35

Anyway, I am going to send this list to Admiral Toys. They could really set themselves apart from the other companies, and since they are new start-up company, they might have a little more freedom and risk in their blood.

I would purchase every one of the tanks listed above. I don't need another Tiger, King Tiger, Sherman, Panther, etc. I do love those tanks, but let's think outside the box. How about it Admiral?

I like your idea on the M3 and the French tanks. Maybe even a 1/72 diecast Japanese tank!

gehena,

You're in luck there as Altaya will release a "Somua S35, Francia, 1940" in the next month or two in 1/72 scale. I think it's the one shown below.

I hope Altaya release their magazine series of tanks and aircraft in the US and Australia someday soon.
