Fixing the New War Master 1/72 HE-219

Post by tmanthegreat » Tue Jul 04, 2017 5:00 pm

I got the new Solido War Master HE-219 1/72 scale diecast model recently. I'd not gotten the previous IXO or earlier War Master versions. When ordering I should have looked at the pics better, but the model doesn't come with any balkenkruze or other national insignia for some reason... There are some other issues as well, but one cannot expect too much with a $25 model. Anyways, I decided to fix the model up a little with some 1/72 scale decals made by Owl Decals for the HE-219 that I found on eBay (surprisingly there were a lot to choose from!). I also made some other small modifications including adding a radio mast and moving the FUG antenna to the underside of the fuselage where it belongs. I also added some figures in the cockpit and painted the dash a darker gray. I was OK with the rest of the paint & markings, so left those alone... I think it looks a lot better now!

Enjoy the pics :D
