Your usual outstanding museum quality work....
Always look forward to pictures of your models.

You have some serious talent.

Looks GREAT! I think you did a great job on the camo of the South African Me262.

Fantastic work, cnq :D

I really like how your camouflage came out in particular. Much better than my big 1/18 21c ME262B!

If you don't mind me asking, what type of airbrush do you use? I'm getting to the point where the single action one I've had for nearly 20 years is starting to reach the end of its service life and I want to invest in something that (with practice) will enable me to get more professional results. Thanks for any input :)

Thanks very much guys.

tmanthegreat,
I have Iwata HP-C model. It's a dual action airbrush. It allows you to throttle back the amount of paint going thru it by limiting how much you can pull back on the trigger. It's been serving me well.

If you have a Hobby Lobby near you, you can get an Iwata HP-CS which is dual action AND gravity-fed, which improves matters.

And you can use the 40% coupon on it.

Win-Win.

I did exactly that to get my second Iwata. Could not beat the price, anywhere (save for a 1 in 1000 auction win on eBay).

My Iwata is using the side cup (the one that goes on the side, not on the top). The advantage is that the side cup does not block your vision when doing detail airbrushing.

Thanks for all the feedback on the airbrush. My single action Paasche airbrush has served me very well, but it always was intended as a basic starter model and after two decades, I think I've gotten my money's worth out of it. I've heard nothing but good things about Iwata air brushes and I do happen to have a Hobby Lobby store in my area, so I will go check that out :D

And cnq, sorry to have hijacked your thread about your excellent ME262B...

That's really great night fighter. Thanks for sharing.

I am considering converting 1/32 BF-109 into a night fighter. Can you recommend any good 1/32 BF-109 night fighter decal?

Excellent work, I always liked the Me-262 and you did a beautiful job. Did you have to use a large amount of weight in the nose?

Thanks guys.

tparkhere,
Sorry I don't know any place to buy good decals for BF109 Night Fighter. You may need to google the internet. I'm sure many will come up.

JollyRoger,
I did not measure the weight I used in the nose because I kept adding it until the plane stood up :) . But I recalled I only used 3/4 penny coins and couple average weight leads.

Yep. The only surviving ME262B-1 night fighter is housed at the South African National Museum of Military History in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The aircraft was Werknummer 110305 and was flown operationally by 10./NJG11 aka "Kommando Welter". It has survived in surprisingly good condition, with the original radar antennas, drop tanks, and other features intact.

Here's a link to someone's blog with some good pictures of the actual plane:

Great photo Tman.

I think I will be repainting the camo on my 1/18 Me262B. It looks ok now but could be better .

I've just finished a small diorama for this plane.
Figures are from Master Box, and Zouke Moura makes the tractor.

The night fighter 262 in 1/18 will look better in this camo .... I like this kind of patchwoork camo parts of late war production (different factories with different directives are making the same products in different colors ...)
1/18 mirage 2000 & RAFALE should i say more ?
