Gemini Jets

Post by Axis Nightmare » Wed Nov 16, 2016 4:31 pm

Anyone here ever collect 1/400 Gemini Jets? I was able to pick up a few very reasonable and have several now. My first was a C-17. DHL freighters and their subcontractors thunder around here and that got me to get a few commercial jets. I miss the yellow stretch DC-8s. Saw the last one making circuits around here a couple years ago. Probably test flights or familiarzation flights by new owners of them. Haven't been able to snag one of those yet in 1/400. Now we have fat yellow 767's and white 747's from Polar. The 747s are unmistakeable for their deep powerful sound. I recall seeing 727s take off from Wilmington not that many years ago. The airport was behind the Kroger store I was helping to merchandise for a remodel. They would immediately go into a steep banking climb which would be unheard of in a passenger plane. Pumping thick black jet exhaust too, those old turbo jets really made the noise. :D

What makes the P-51 Mustang so special?

"It would do for 8 hours what a Spitfire would do for 45 minutes."
