I use 50lb test fishing line. Have been working off the same spool for years. I've never had a problem with the 50lb line (though I have had thinner line break on me). There are some very heavy models in my collection hanging on the 50lb line, like the JSI F-14 and 21c 1/6 scale Littlebird Helicopter, and it has always held.

Yes, I must go with the 50lb line now. I have a 1/18 Avenger, a couple Stukas and various other big planes hanging on 20lb with back up lines on the bigger planes and it seems kind of thin. I do a sort of routine where I take them down and clean them. I will take that opportunity to string them with 50lb.
