Corgi Bird Cage Corsair

Post by aferguson » Wed Mar 30, 2016 7:48 pm

I just discovered that Corgi made a birdcage corsair. It doesn't seem to go for a lot o money, so I am wondering if there is something wrong with it? It's AA33001.

These models are OK, AF, but they lack a pitot head and they botched the tail wheel part. If you display the model in the wheels-down mode, you're in fairly good shape, but the part provided doesn't fit right in the "up" position.

I've got one "Marines Dream" Typical old school Corgi with the trench lines and gaps. Cowling flaps permanently open, but it's the only birdcage corsair available in 1:72 I do believe.

I pre-ordered the 1:48 Ken Walsh from HM just to have one that is a little more refined, though some don't like the folding wing position or the gaps when they are down, or the flaps down too. It's give or take either or.

Seen some good deals on some of the older Corgi's I'm missing and pick them up if they're halfway decent.
I do believe it's worth having at least one Corgi birdcage and one HM for me anyways.

On eBay it's between $45-100. But at Aikins, it's a lot cheaper, AF:

thanks Epap but Aiken's shipping to Canada is ludicrous, so I never buy from them. I know where I can get it for about 34USD shipped so I guess i'll go for that. I'm pretty happy to find a birdcage corsair in 1/72.

Can't remember exactly but I know I paid around $25 for mine plus shipping.

The one you're getting may be more desirable though and higher priced.
