1/32ish B-17

Post by ketelone » Sat Jun 27, 2015 2:39 pm

I went to a hobby shop near me and they had a built wooden kit B-17. I purchased it 'as is.' It doesn't have propellers and it needs a little work. How big would the propellers be? I plan on making/cutting circles of plastic to show the propellers in motion. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. It's very light weight and I plan on hanging it from the ceiling.

I believe Guillows made a balsa wood 1/24 scale B-17, maybe it was one of those?

Kevin,
Could be. It's big and it has some issues but for $14, I couldn't pass it up.

The diameter of a 1:48 scale propeller is 3 inches. For a 32nd scale model, you would need a circle with a 4.5 inch diameter. A 1/24 scale propeller circle would be about 6 inches.

Being a big fan of the B-17, I would love to see what you picked up.
