Museum D-Day model display

Post by Axis Nightmare » Sun Jun 01, 2014 6:16 am

In addition to our extensive 1/18 displays (as seen in the 1/18 Forum), the Cincinnati Scale Modelers have placed in their case a selection of 1/48 aircraft that were in service or marked for the D-Day invasion. This and our other displays are in preparation for our Tri-State Warbird Museum Gala fund raiser dinner and program to take place June 6, 2014, the 70th anniversary of D-Day, Normandie, France. We plan on having a C-47 in full D-Day markings and a parachute drop along with a pair of P-51s flying that evening. The Scale Modelers do some fine work and are quite proud to show off their models. Here's a sampling of what planes are in the case.

What makes the P-51 Mustang so special?
