Takara SotW Otokotachi no Yamato (Men's Yamato) Edition
The Takara Ships of the World Otokotachi no Yamato (Men's Yamato) Edition is a 9-piece set of mixed-standardized scale, plastic, ready-made models to be released in December as a licensed product for the Japanese live-action movie of the same name (http://www.yamato-movie.jp/). Six (6) of the models are 1:700 scale IJN Destoyers, with the remaining three (3) models being various 1:144 scale gun emplacements. There is a companion set to this collection in the form of a revised group of 1:700 scale cross-sectional IJN Yamato-Class Battleships.
Reportedly, the display case box will contain 12 sealed unit boxes that "blind" the collector as to their contents until the containers have actually been opened. However, despite the fact that the entire set consists of only nine (9) models, the randomization of the case assortment may not necessarily guarantee that a complete collection can be compiled through the purchase of a single case box.
Although these are pre-painted and pre-assembled models, they are probably unfinished and will likely require minor assembly of detail parts that will have to be cut loose from a runner. The battery-powered motor in this collection can be attached to any of the ships from this set for some "bathtub cruising."

Takara Ships
These ships look great. Are they available individually here in the USA? Also, will they be releasing any USN subjects?
