Keep in mind FOV is made in China. I think often these companies are at the mercy of Chinese manufacturing as well as shipping issues. In the past how many companies have issued catalogues with items that never made it to market? Examples: 21st, Corgi, etc...

Got this email today:

Hi Corey,

All of us involved in the development of new products for Forces of
Valor are committed to maintaining a complete offering of 1:32nd Scale
Tanks and Vehicles both WWII and Modern. Our 2014 lineup includes
multiple releases in 1:32nd scale that update the packaging construction
as we transition to packaging that allows the collector to easily remove
and replace the products from the package. This package change has
proved to be highly appreciated by our enthusiastic collectors. We
expect to release more than a dozen 1:32nd scale in these new packages
this year although many will not be new tools or campaigns the packaging
change is a focus for this year.

We are also finding a substantial opportunity in 1:700 scale ships. We
have 7 new or repackaged ships planned for 2014.

We are also expanding our 1:72nd scale modern plane offerings including
3 or more new planes as well as packaging improvements.

Helicopters are hot and we will be offering new helicopters in both
1:48th and 1:72nd scale.

Please let your followers know we have not abandoned them. We are
focusing our tooling budget this year on areas that are newer to us than
the tanks and vehicles as these areas offer new opportunities that help
us grow. At the same time our major volume does come from 1:32nd scale
vehicles and we are committed to growing that business over the years.

I am attaching a PDF file that was offered recently at Toy Fair. It
includes a plan that covers releases we are confident we be available
this year. There are others in the works that will be announced at the
Hobby Show in October.

Best regards,

Roger Richards

Okay, then. So my decision to abandon 1/32 armor for 1/35 seems to be validated by yet another year of nothing new.

I am not interested in repaints or new packaging, although this will work out for those relatively new to the game. Good news for those who collect other scales.

There goes Fov 1/32 March Madness. I would think if your major volume comes from 1/32. Why would you not want to make something new. Goes to show that 1/32 is popular, and too bad 21st is still not in business.

They said that "many will not be new tools or campaigns" which I took to mean most will just be the current issues in the new packaging rather than many repaints or anything new. I only collect German vehicles and there weren't any new vehicles last year; how about the other factions? Didn't they release a new US softskin?

But based on the present progress, I just don't expect anything too groundbreaking in terms of new vehicles, especially for the Germans. Maybe some variants of an existing base like an Ostwind off the Wirbelwind or a variation of one of the Soviet tanks.

The ever elusive Wespe scaled up from 1/72?

IRT cjg476:

What type of file is it? Images, a pdf, text file?

No direct way to attach a pdf. The only thing I can think of without getting into all kinds of downloading nonsense is to open up the pdf, take a screenshot of each page and save them as jpegs or whatever, and upload each to a hosting site and then link them to here. Or you could upload the file to a cloud server and give a download link.

If you have Photoshop or BlueBeam PDF editor, you can convert the PDF to a JPG.

Hmm... Looks like it will be a great year in 1:72 and 1:700 for FOV - 1:32 scale not quite as much. Guess that gives me time to track down some of the existing 1:32 items I'm missing from my collection and perhaps a repaint or two if I like the scheme. I really wish FOV would make a proper mid-production Panzer III, a Panzer II, Churchill, and Char 1B (among others) but I may have to go the 1:35 scale route for those for the time being...

Seriously! How many vehicles does Unimax make that could become a legitimate variant by only changing a few minor details that would not require a ton of new tooling? If you can sell Pzkpfw XX Ausf B by changing the length of the barrel and adding a stowage box to Pzkpfw XX Ausf A then why not? There are many people already buying the same tank over and over simply because the paintjob is different.

Remember the Elefant? Take off that bow gun and zimmerit and VOILA! new for 2014 the Ferdinand at Kursk.

Lots of new repackaging?!?!! No new campaigns?!??!!!!
Kiss my ass UNIMAX!
They fed us 1:32 guys LIES back when this thread first started just to keep us hanging on!
The Plastic General is not happy!

BUT, on a more positive note, there are a tonne of new 1:32 WWII toy soldiers that have been released in the last year, with many more sets down the pipeline!

The 1:32 LANCASTER, HORTEN and the DO-335 are coming out in kit form,
in the next few months!

SO, be more resourceful and build some kits in the meantime.
Cheat with 1:35, it cured me of my 1:32 blues.

It's Sunday morning For anyone who remembers the "All in The Family" theme song, here's a little take on it going out to all of us.
Oh for (most) of the models from 21st and FOV we gladly payed. Armor and aircraft that (mostly) made our hit parade. Plastic and diecast nuts like us we had it made, those were the days.

And we knew where to find the goods back then.... Target, WalMart and TRU were all gems. Mister I wouldn't mind spending 15 minutes scanning that 109 for flaws again......
And that's all I got folks.  :(

Oh well, at least I have insanely overpriced masterpiece and select Generations and 30th Transformers to suck my bank account dry. and the last two dry out soon thanks to the newest **** movie. :? :(

And here is the required MST3K pic that sums it all up...
