Forces of Valor 2014???

Post by Fitzy » Sun Oct 20, 2013 5:45 am

I was just wondering if it's that time of year again. Shouldn't they be announcing their repaints, I mean new releases for 2014. I would like to see a 1:32 Wespe or M-10 tank destroyer. They made them in 1:72. I would think if they were popular in 1:72, they would make them in 1:32.

The next announced models will be a Dodge ambulance and a Krupp "protze" truck with a 37mm PAK - both in 1/32.

I whole bunch of lame re-paints and obvious misses.
Yes, they owe it to us 1:32 guys to make all their 1:72 up-scaled to 1:32.

The Plastic General could turn that company around, well, at least their 1:32 sales.

I agree Plastic General. Also why don't they do some Afrika Korp repaints or something desirable. I'm so bored with the unweathered plain gray colors.

I could go on with a wishlist for new 1:32 vehicles from FOV...

I'd like a Panzer II, Char 1B, Panzer III, Wespe, Churchill (perhaps my most desired) and a T-34-76. I know there's the 21c version of the Panzer III (I have several) and they are nice, but FOV would get some of the smaller details better...

I could keep going, but it looks as though we'll get repaints punctuated by who knows what. I mean, some of their new releases this year were rather interesting.

Would love to see them get back into 1:32 modern armor as well.

OK, if were going to play this pathetic game AGAIN, I want in!

First off, if your going to project a wish to the toy soldier Gods at FOV,
you have to be somewhat realistic.

So here is my REALISTIC pitch:

T-34 (w. 76 Turret)
KV-2
US 2 1/2 TRUCK made into a Soviet KATYUSHA rocket truck
SHERMAN w. Rockets
German half track w. Rockets
BERGE PANTHER Recovery Tank
STEWART Tank w. Howitzer Turret
and MAYBE "ONE" NEW vehicle if were really lucky!
But if I could have my 1:32 wish?
Ether the MAUS or a JS-II

The Plastic General has spoken!

Revell has a 1/32 sherman with rockets and its a round body also. if you want to have welded plate body switch the turret with their other 1/32 sherman kit. one of the revell sherman kits comes with the early style small mantlet of the turret.

I did that.
The Round Sherman is more useful on it's own, with a desert paint scheme.
I put the rockets on the Hedge Hog, wood covered Sherman instead.
BUT, where talking FORCES of VALOR here!

Is this new FoV?

I haven't been up on my 1/32 releases as of late, so my apologies if this is a repost.

Well, it was already hinted at a while back, but that level of pricing is new. I'd like to meet the person stupid enough to pay that amount.

Yes, that is new FOV,
but that probably is an early bird opportunist just trying to get an obsessive collector to PAY!

The real price is at about $70.

...and $40 more for shipping! A more typical price from our buds at the Motor Pool:

I have my FOV connection here in Toronto at JOHN'S HOBBIES.
I just order it by phone and they get it in. Average piece with everything included $70.
The Germ. truck with the GUN, that's the one I'm waiting for.
It's also time for me to finally buy a FOV TIGER I & US AMBULANCE.

I went to a Hobbytown USA today and the retail prices for FOV are $85 on the newer stuff. I also noticed that the FOV is lot moving very well. There were several 1/32 and 1/72 items reduced by 25%, which makes these items almost affordable, which is good. My concern is either the store or FOV are going to reduce their production/acquisition of this product line because it's not moving. I'd love to see a general rollback of prices from Unimax to Hobbytown but I doubt that will happen. Long story short, I'd hate to see the departure/demise of FOV. What do you guys think?

Whats the name of the guy that founded "21st CENTURY TOYS" ?
We need that guy to come back, but this time he'll have to PACE HIMSELF and make wise decisions.
Like hiring ME to be his "Product Director" (if he was to try again, of course)

General, I think that ship sailed a long time ago. I fear we are experiencing the end of an era for inexpensive, readily available 1/32 'die cast'.

Well shoot, I didn't know about a forum member discount! I have bought from him on ebay before not knowing he was one of our own. Well next time I'll know to ask.

Your welcome. I thought others knew. I always just pm him and ask a price and he lets me know and its always cheaper than anywhere else. He also owns a business so if you don't hear back from him I just ebay message him and let him know I sent him a pm here and he gets back to you quickly. I haven't seen him on in awhile.
