I guess this is good news since the only current kits are 1/48 and 1/72, but as for me I only build planes that saw combat during the WWII - which the AT-6 did not.

Seriously, I would build a Caudron C.714C.1 before I ever considered a trainer of any kind, and the Caudron itself saw extremely limited use before being pulled from service.

I with you about 1:32 aircraft.
It MUST have had an active combat roll during WWII to make it into my collection.
I hate the concept of owning a trainer.
Its really too bad that TRUMPETER only released a 1:32 kit of a two seat YAK trainer, but lacked the wisdom to release the all important YAK FIGHTER????
Go figure?

Interesting that the Australian version of the AT-6, the Wirraway actually saw combat against the Japanese in WWII, and something I didn't know was that the Boomerang, an Australian fighter was derived from it. I thought the shape of the Boomerang single seat fighter was similar to the Texan.

Post war the Syrians used the Texan against the Israelis, and also the US used them as forward observers in the Korean war.

A trainer in WWII, but important aircraft that most fighter pilots cut their teeth in nonetheless.

Good to see more 1:32 models being made, now If we could just get someone to make pre-assembled & pre-painted planes again.

Last years RNAS Yeovilton Airday - my five year old son (He's the Sam part of my user name) and I were walking down the static taking photos, he's got a compact zoom camera, and when we stood in front of the Texan, he said he wanted to get a close up picture, which the pilot heard, and got up from his deckchair and asked if Sam would like to look inside... so off he went, It absolutely made his day.
So for me, a large scale version would be great to put into the paint scheme of this particular aircraft.
