Is there at 1/35 modelling forum comparable to this one?

Post by 20july1944 » Sat Mar 02, 2013 8:26 pm

I haven't built a model in about 20 years but I just bought a few on Ebay and discovered to my horror that the norm is now individual link tracks rather than the admittedly less accurate vinyl tracks that we would see on a 1/32 tank as well.

So:
Is there a 1/35 modelling counterpart of this forum?
and
Is any company making retro 1/35 vinyl panzer tracks?

Any particular treads you're looking for? I have a big box of 1/35 armor track and I'm pretty sure that there are a few different vinyl styles in there.

I feel your pain.
Whenever ANYONE releases a 1:35 tank kit, they should ALWAYS include the link tracks AND the rubber tracks. Have you ever tried putting together the track links for the MAUS?! !@#$%^ Nightmare!

@ hworth: mainly Pz IV but also Pz III and maybe Pz V or VI. You could PM me.

@ PlasticGeneral: in fact, it was the Dragon MAUS that I first discovered this horrible development of the individual tracks when i bought it 12 years ago. I never went beyond opening the box when I saw that -- it was like discovering a dead rat inside.

If anyone has old Tamiya or Italeri (probably not Heller or Esci but who knows?) vinyl PZ tracks they would like to trade for individual links out of kits, PM me your interest because I'll have more if I do start building again (I'm actually trying to resist the temptation due to space constraints).

Also, my second question stands --
Is there a site like this but for 1/35 armor models? There must be.

So glad I am not the only one who feels that way about the link tracks! The horror! I have enough trouble just building the damn model now days let alone subjecting myself to that torture.
