I would love to be contacted first, regarding your sale of 1:32.
I must admit that it saddens me to hear that you will sell them, I could never do it, I love them too much.
I just mix both scales, big deal!

LONG LIVE 1:32!!!!!!!!

Matching tie and handkerchief, almost finished:

Had to scratchbuild a set of stowage compartments for the 251 as the Tamiya kit had none. Mine are pretty basic as I've never actually built a part before.

Okay, so I recently sold off all my 21C and FOV 1/32 armor in favor of 1/35 kits since there does not appear to be any prospect of anything but repaints for the foreseeable future. I have accumulated a ton of kits - I've basically replaced what I had PLUS many new items. I am keeping my aircraft, since kits are the same scale as the prebuilt and if I build stuff I already have it would just be different paint schemes.

I have decided to speed things up a bit by building in groups based mostly on chassis, starting with my Pzkpfw IV's and associated variants.

First up is Tamiya's Pzkpfw IV Ausf D, which I will be doing in an early Panzer Grey scheme. Model is done except for cleanup and touchups, which I will do alongside the other kits once they are built. Next up will be Tamiya's Mobelwagen since all the Tamiyas basically follow the same build path which makes this assembly-line approach easier.

Tamiya kits go together pretty quickly except for the road wheels, but those are always tedious no matter who makes the kit.

Sorry I had to abandon 1/32 armor, but I wanted to expand my collection and after putting a 1/35 Sdkfz 251 Ausf C next to a 21C Ausf D, the difference was to much for me to handle. I'm a tad anal about such things so there you have it. I will miss the working bits but not the oversized hinges and crap.

very nice collection of model kits. I like the Mosquito and Mitchell ones. It's going to take me a good 2-3 years to finish building all of that :D

ONCE BITTEN by the 1:35 BUG, there will be NO RETURN!
But you do need to get on your 1:32 aircraft!
You are so going to ENJOY your B-25 & V-2!

nice. your paint jobs are nice too. ive always liked looking at what you came out with in 1/32. i wish some of the stuff 1/35 was a available in 1/32. if i find everything in 1/35 that the wheels and tracks rolled id go back to 1/35. keep up the good work.

Finished the assembly of the three other Tamiya Panzer IVs; the conversion parts for the Ostwind were covered with flash and mold marks but I think it will build into a decent piece. Wondering if I should go ahead and just build all the Tamiya kits first since they mostly fall together, or continue building by vehicle groupings which to finish the IV's would switch me to Dragon kits with 5000 pieces and photoetch eyelets for the lace holes in the driver's boots.

The next step for all is paint prep (filling, sanding, masking, etc) and painting all the treads - all use the vinyl bands. The Ausf D will be in an early gray scheme with all others being Dunkelgelb-based representing units from Italy and Western Europe where appropriate.

Things are flying together. Just added the Luchs and the Jagdpanther and am finishing up a Marder III.

Have added the Wespe and Tiger I to the paint queue and am starting the gun portion of the Nashorn. The first two were also Tamiya kits, but the Nashorn is a rebox of someone else's kit by Dragon. The plastic is a softer material that doesn't hold details quite as sharp but it was priced very right.

Parts have been cunningly leaned together to create the illusion of completeness:

QUESTION for those of you who also build:

Viewing a YouTube vid on weathering gave me the notion of using the hairspray technique on most of the tools, especially the wooden-handled ones. This way I could then attach them and spray them along with the entire hull and fastenings as would have been done at the factory so everything would match up, and then weather off the paint on the handles and worky-bits to reveal the original tool color and material underneath.

I am sure I could Google this, but the hairspray trick requires the use of acrylics only over the first layer of paint (ex; the steel of a shovel blade), as the water would not penetrate enamel- or lacquer-based factory paint to get to the hair spray coating under it - is this correct?

Since I obviously will be needing to amass a quantity of base and camo color paint for the pile of kits I am cranking through, I need to know whether to do Model Master or Tamiya (or Vallejo) and by hours of usage I am biased towards MM enamels but will do what will work best. I have used Tamiya acrylics only once that I can recall but I don't remember any pros/cons which in itself could be a good sign.

It only recently occurred to me to stop being a dumbass and take a 40%-off coupon down to Hobby Lobby and buy the biggest, cheapest plane model and use that for airbrush practice rather than the more expensive kits I really can't afford to f up.

Lucky for me painting is a matter of base coating either Panzer Gray or Dunkelgelb so I can do a bunch at once.

Well, the cold has made it impossible for me to paint at the moment - my workroom is off the garage and to keep warm I would have to seal it up which counteracts ventilation while running the airbrush. And it doesn't get much above 55ºF in there which is uncomfortable while working.

So I have just kept assembling kits knowing I can pretty much base coat them all at once and then concentrate on individual camo schemes.

Adding to the paint-prep queue are:

SdKfz 234/1
Image

SdKfz 234/2 "Puma"
Image

SdKfz 234/3
Image

All three are Italeri kits and went together pretty quickly. I have a 234/4 but it is a Dragon kit and does not assemble the same way.

By the time it gets warm enough again to paint, I just might have almost my entire collection ready and waiting. It also gives me time to add odds and ends to flesh out details.

I am blasting through these kits. Just added an 8.8cm Flak 36, Zundapp KS750, and Volkswagen Type 82e to the paint line:
