Looks like 21st Century Toys lives on in the Wings of Glory with there third release. This 1/48th scale P-40 named Texas Longhorn.

These shots taken shamelessly off of Ebay. Seems like multiple examples are already for sale there. Anyone have any luck finding them?

nope, just five of the 109's at the east/west connector walmart, of course, I don't hit as many of the local walmarts as I used to.

Maybe that's the only way that fit, I had to trim my 109 gear to fit correctly, but I don't know how the gear on this fit, like 21st CT GEAR?

Any luck finding them? I've never seen this nor any of the previous releases - ever! And its not for lack of Wal Marts in my area nor those visited while on the road. Seem to be totally absent from the west. Its the old 21c/Wal Mart shenanigans all over again, but at least its for 1:48 aircraft that I already have the originals of - and not some newfangled 1:18 item.

Still, now that they've done the P-40, P-51, and Bf-109, that leaves the Tony and Hellcat. I wonder what paintjobs they will choose for those?

According to the shipping manifest it said 13,000 units were shipped from Hong Kong to Oakland. They were all P-40s as they were labeled TEXAS. Seems they only produce one aircraft model at a time. Far cry from the old days. But if we get out there and BUY BUY BUY maybe that will be enough incentive.

Never seen WoG on Long Island...

Ouch!

That leaves something to be desired.

Definitely not for me, as I have the awesome GMP example in 1/35.

Wings of Glory seem to be toys for kids, and not for a semi serious collector. With a price to match.

Actually the Wings of Glory models like the 21st Century / Ultimate Solider are very nice representations for the person who does not build their own. If you can find them the $10 to $11 depending on the sales tax is a good deal. The moldings are clean, the paint jobs are nice and the extra graphics for the personnel markings are cleaner than any decal can get. Now I am not supporting any online auction but to play the devils advocate. If it costs the so called $11 for the model and shipping charge is usually a wash but the seller has to pay a percentage on total sales and shipping to the auction house and paypal, then he has to pay for shipping materials, then his time and transportation to the post office or wherever shipping facility I can see how the end price climbs.

Checked here in the Fort Stewart, area only thing on the shelf was (1) BF-109. We had the P-51 Red Tail earlier. Maybe we are near the end of the supply line, and it will show up in a week or two....

I've never seen them anywhere in SoCal (and I look everytime I go to Walmart), but when I was driving up to San Francisco for Fleet Week in early October, we past through Gilroy. We stopped at a walmart and they had four BF-109s, so I snatched one of those up. Seems like it's Mid-NorCal that's getting the aircraft.

Good to know, there Brit. I'm sometimes up in that area for work or travel.

I've not seen any in the Central Valley area - from various stores ranging from Kern County north to Merced along the Hwy 99 corridor. Thats well over 200 miles. Heck, there are 8 Wal Marts in about a 20 mile radius in the Fresno/Clovis area alone that have never had these. Its just like the old 21c days, which is what ticks me off :?

In the end, though, its not that I really need them... I have multiples of the original 21c examples and I'm more into collecting the far superior diecast 1:48 scale aircraft made by HobbyMaster, etc.

These showed up in our local Walmart on Xmas eve. There was only a small number so I grabbed one.

I went back yesterday to get something for the kid, and there were 16 on the shelf.

Slow distribution to our local WM is normal, but at least all three models have made it to Hinesville so far.

Wonder what's next?

I have yet to see this or the P-51, but the 109's are everywhere, have picked one of them up, some good features but had a few paint issues...

Then they hopped over me on their way to you, because there have been none in Carrollton, Douglasville, Villa Rica, and the surrounding area.

Ran across some of these over the weekend. Not impressed and passed.
Until 21st releases some of their "in the pipeline" projects, or at least a legitimate marketing strategy, I will pass on any of their Wal-mart or repaint junk and leave someone else the opportunity to purchase them.
