Saw this model in a model shop in central London earlier this week. It seems to be a marriage between elements from two existing models. I was unaware that such a model was in the pipeline, Did such a combination exist in WWII? The vehicle was on sale for a £59.00. I must confess it did n't do lot for me. Has anyone else seen this?

That truck is old news and it is the good one. It also had enjoyed numerous successful variants.
Their second U.S. truck on the other hand (1.5 tonne) was the real disappointment.
Whoever makes the subject decisions for that company, needs to be FIRED immediately!!

WOW, £59.00 is a real killer price. Nevertheless, the vehicle looks unique.

It does look ok but the price means I have to be very selective of what I buy now and this will not be one of them.
On the price did you notice the Jeep with trailer is a wopping £49.99 and I am fully expecting the Motorcycle combination re issue to be the same price

I bought the second willys jeep version, the white washed bastogne version, for $30 USD. Camo is better and more diorama items. However, the downside is that it doesn't have the trailer.

Did such combinations exist - yes, but they were rather rare. The idea was less about the "gun trucks" like they used for convoy escort in Viet Nam, but about giving better mobility to the towed quad fifties. In the US Army in WW2 there were "AntiAircraft Automatic Weapons Battalions (Self-Propelled), or AAAW Bn (SP) these had mixed batteries of M15/M15A1 and M16 halftrack gun motor carriages. A normal AAAW Bn had 40mm Bofors and .50 cal quads on wheeled mounts that were towed by 2 1/2 trucks. It was just a matter of putting the guns onto the rear of the trucks, but wasn't done very often. The European Theater already had extra M2 halftracks and some units motorized their .50s by converting M2 halftracks to home made M16s (designated M16B), so the need for truck mounting was reduced already. The realtivly small Luftwaffe presence reduced the demand for AAA units.
PS - one cool thing about the FoV model is the new truck cab.

This is one of FOV's more unique vehicles. I wouldn't have guessed in 100 years that FOV would release a GMC 2.5 CARGO TRUCK WITH 4X 0.5 MG. I'm sure that the allied FOV collectors will be happy.
