Dollar General

Post by ketelone » Sat Sep 22, 2012 12:51 pm

I stopped at a Dollar General store yesterday. I was surprised to see NewRay 1/32 figures, vehicles, Apache helicopters, etc. They were inexpensive. When you consider at Hobbylobby, Michaels, etc., offer the Testors' 1/32 Apache for $24-$27 and you can get The Apache, a couple of figures plus a vehicle for $15, not bad.... The different sets ranged from $8 to $15.

A helicopter does not want to fly, it just vibrates so much that the ground rejects it

I realize these aren't the greatest examples of our hobby, but they are fantastic deals.

That Sea King is interesting even with the odd 1942 insignia. Some weird stuff shows up at Dollar General. They released a wave of GI Joe figures a few months ago that had us Joe guys buying them all up.

I'm weak. I admit it. I went to a DG and bought the Apache and the LAV (olive) sets. I have these pieces but I just couldn't resist. I'm still looking for the other chopper....

Didn't even know what this store was until I saw this thread, googled it, found the only one in my area, and went there this afternoon. Really not a bad place.

They had the same items everyone else is reporting: New Ray RC M1 Abrams and King Tiger, Apache & LAV set, smaller sets wtih the green LAV. It was cool in many ways to see these sorts of items on the shelf, but nothing upon close inspection really screamed at me to pick it up.

Still, now that I think about it, may have to go back and get a New Ray KT. I want to try using one for moving target practice with a pellet gun :P

Just an fyi...there is a $5 off $25 coupon on the Dollar General website. It's good on Saturday the 13th only.
