Re: Bye Bye room
I feel your pain.
Before kids, I used to have my own office/diecast display room at home. After three children took over three bedrooms, my wife told me that I can display diecast in master bedroom display cases. No problem. But, a year later, somehow diecast were moved to being diaplayed on my side of the closet. Finally, they were all moved to the garage.
None of my diecast are displayed. I get diecast and look at them for a minute. Then, into storage boxes they go.
Be afraid. Very, very afraid.

Wouldn't it be easier to put the baby in the basement?

Keep your fingers crossed for a boy! Then tell your wife you need to keep the collection as an investment for when he goes to college!

Re: Bye Bye room
Great looking room, hate to see it converted, but congratulations on your future little one! Just wait until you share your hobby with them, it will be worth it!
Re: Bye Bye room
Wow!
Very nice. Sorry to hear that you've got to start selling but a little one is
a "pretty good" trade off IMHO
I'm just at the point of putting MY room back together after not having one for a
few years (Wife finally gave me permission lol) and I'm going to use YOURS as
my template.

Re: Bye Bye room
Nice display set up. Understand about the little ones, they are pretty amazing as well. Maybe someday you can rebuild!

Re: Bye Bye room
It looks like you've got an awesome collection JJ. Your art work looks really nice as well. Perhaps you can create a little war room as your little one gets older. If you have a child into the military theme, you can do birthday cakes with army sets and camo with dog tag invites - all that fun stuff.
I have the room, but personally, I have the challenge of combining some other themes I enjoy including Pirates/Nautical, Trains, and Wild West. Makes for an interesting War Room.

Re: Bye Bye room
I bought that for $25 a long time ago on e-bay. I might end up selling most of my 1/18 stuff later on. Just no room to store the stuff. I had to move into the basement with my models . I've since sold off a bunch of 1/72 Dragon stuff, but still bought other stuff to replace it .
I've been having a hard time justifying the new prices on the models. Most of the new 1/72 are around $25 to $30. A bit hard to swallow for a small model that sits ont he shelf.
I really need a new riding lawn mower instead , but I always say next year and buy more tanks.
