New 1/48 Erich Hartmann Black Tulip Bf-109G

Post by JollyRoger » Fri May 18, 2012 10:04 pm

I don't know if this has already been posted but the Wings Of Glory series released a 1/48 scale Bf-109G painted in the markings of Erich Hartmann's "Black Tulip". It seems the the 21st Century molds will not go to waste.

Do you if it has been released or just proposed on the back of the Redtail P-51 package?

AllGo can go to hell as far as I'm concerned.

I NEVER saw the previous P-51 and don't expect to find this either. I would rather such new items go to the small retailers as well (so we all get a chance) but it looks like they are back to their old WM distribution games.

But, with superior 1:48 products being offered by Hobbymaster, etc, I won't waste any more time complaining

Stay with it. If they had the Mustangs, they most likely will get the rest of whatever they produce.

The 3 WM near me that had the P-51s still have about 6-10 in each store, so it may be awhile before I see the 109's. If anyone needs any of the Redtail P-51s for actual cost and shipping let me know (maybe I can move some their inventory that way)

It looks pretty cool. Walmart has the same distribution problems like the old 21stC days it seems.
I've been to a number of Walmarts, never saw any planes, no Mustangs no nothing. I have a couple of the old 1:48's and would buy this if I saw it.

I hope Allgo can make some money here, then on to other things.

I don't think Algo is associated with this Hartmann 109 or the Redtail Mustang. The company is BH Toys but it sure looks like the old 21st century molds

Nah I'm pretty sure the red tail P-51 and this 109 are Algo stuff. Didn't Zach have a post just prior to the red tail release? Pretty sure he did.

I'm a few miles from the WM HQ, have access to over 20 stores no scheisse and the red tail Mustang NEVER showed at any of them! SOS man, SOS.

I found one walmart out of 10 that had a place and a sticker on the shelf, but the shelf was empty.

When will they ever learn? I went to a large local Portland (Oregon) Walmart and not only were there no Hartmann bf-109s A clerk informed me they were reducing shelf space in the toy section. He did not expect the smaller space to include Wings of Glory products. They had carried the P-51 redtails earlier this year. Sadly, the distribution issues at these big box stores will continue to depress the hobby (and hobbyists). You would think that 21C would provide a cautionary tale.

First time reply, but long time visitor. I have really enjoyed reading your posits.

Best regards to all,
Robert
