Looks like the panther is representing the 9th SS panzer division in the ardennes, rather than the 8th SS.
It was knocked out in Sterpigny, Belgium 17 January 1945 (Can someone confirm this?).

Hmm...Looks similiar. The tank riders should be in winter clothing then. :D

Heart breaking! The least they could do, is include some exciting new figure sculpts. Some Waffen SS or Winter camo. in battle poses. That would be enough to get me to go for it. If their so into re-paints, they should try re-painting the figures also!

I wonder if the wheel skirts on the FOV panther can be taken off, since I think it looks better without the skirts. :?:

I always have wished that the skirts on the panther were detachable, like on the jagdpanther.

Interesting repaints to say the least. I think I'm most fond of the Stug III (great to get a non-Italy one with side skirts) and the Flakpanzer IV looks good as well. That is one I need to add to my collection.

Not too wild about the new paintjob on the Panther or the Jagdtiger. I've got the first-series examples of both and find them to be much better. The Panther looks almost plain... I agree, it would look better without the skirting as well, but its a permanent feature of the tooling.

Looks like the packaging will be a lot easier to get out though. No more twist ties. I also see a lack of diorama stuff(eg. gas barrels, spare tracks, etc.). :(

FOV had actually made another eastern front stug a while back already.

Some people haven't been paying attention.:) These have been up on themotorpool.com since a month or two ago.
It is nice to see them on ebay, so they must be coming to the states soon.
I must say, the new packaging is HIDEOUS. It looks like something that a plastic toy would be in.

I definitely agree with this statement. I like German AFVs as much as the next guy, but I really do have quite enough of them. Time for something different!

I still glad that FOV decided to re-release the t-34 and the US ambulance.

In Canada, after taxes, your average FOV. tank comes out to about $75. What are the prices like in the states, after taxes?

Most of the US based retailers are asking for about $65 USD + about $8 shipping on average. I've never been charged sales tax when I buy online.

Crap, Now I have to get tha Opel and US M-35 truck. The open tops and riders are good selling points. The Stug looks neat, but I like my customized eastern front version (which has the same figures, stowage, etc). No weathering is a disappointment, but lack of weathering seems to be FOV's general trend nowadays.

Yeah, I might need to airbrush some mud or dirt on mine once I get it.

By the way, the truck is a GMC CCKW-353. The M35 was a completely different series of trucks from the 50's to now. In WW2 most trucks didn't have "M" numbers, the US Army Quartermaster Corps classed their trucks by manufacturers' designations.

I've come to expect s lack of weathering. Besides that, they look great.
