Some of you may have seen my contest entry in the Off Topic forum, but I thought I'd share with everyone more of the photos I took. There are about 20 photos I am going to post so give the page some time to load.

In some of the photos you may be able to make out a small object at the far front of the column that is never pictured up close. Any guesses as to what it might be? I'll give you a hint, it is not historically accurate, and it is kind of silly.

Those Black and White pictures are awesome (well all are!).
Great work Kevin!

/EDIT Had to post again, that picture across the wing of the Storch is genius.

Is that the Hasegawa Storch?

And in the last color pic, looks like one of the groundpounder's tripped on a rock.

Thanks everyone for the kind words :D

Now to the questions:

[CAT]CplSlade- Yes that is the Hasegawa Storch, good eye

miggles- As MG pointed out, 8 rad armored cars, aka my sdkfz 231, 232, 233 and 263 (rear of the column) are all built off the Monogram/Revell 1/32 scale sdkfz 232 kit.

Now, does anyone want to guess what all those Germans are chasing down?

Pazer,

I am always impressed with your work. Thanks for sharing pictures of your work.

BTW. Regarding the birds eye view showing a close-up of a plane, can I assume that you shot this picture while you are standing on top of a ladder (or a hill)?

No idea, PanzerArm.

The lead figure looks different, but hard to tell.

Simply amazing, the black and white photos are really great, its like you can see the dust and smell exhaust fumes as the column moves by 8), but the color ones show the amount of detail that was put into them, really great work.

I've had those two sitting amidst my display items for some time and thought it was about time they got a little attention

Tpark, I was just standing there, no ladder involved. Now that you mention it, it does look to be a bit higher than what it really was. Must be some perspective trick I used unintentionally lol.

Awesome pics Panzerarm
I like the variety of shots, color, black&white, hazy focus, playing with height 8)

Strange... is anyone else hearing the tune of Indiana Jones playing in the background

A moment of Gary Larson: "To his horrible embarrassment, just as he tripped, Karl heard the camera go CLICK!"

Those pictures, especially the black and whites could have come right out of a WWII publication about the Africa Corps and you would have had a hard time catching that they were models. You can really see how open those columns would have been to Allied air attack. Very real. Outstanding :!: :!: :!:
