Forces of Valor 2012 Releases

Post by PanzerArm » Wed Oct 12, 2011 7:52 am

I hope the topic doesn't get you too pumped up only to find that this thread does not indeed bear any info on the releases themselves. My intent is to share with you all an email I received from FOV's Customer Service rep in regards to that lack of information on the 2012 releases:

Hello Kevin, I apologize for the late response, as I was hoping to get some information for you. However, this company is VERY vague with any new product information until the Toy Fair in February.

Unfortunately, I have no new product information for you (Or anyone else). They always keep this a secret until Toy Fair. If you remember, shoot me an email late February and Ill have information then.

Im very sorry, but they really do keep me in the dark with that stuff.

Thank you
Maria Ashley
Customer Service

Apparently we have quite a few more months before we find out what is in pipeline over at FOV. Let's hope that they actually do some tanks next year...

So you started a new thread to say you don't have any information about the topic, and won't have any until FOV announces their 2012 product line in 2012?

Gotcha! :D

I actually e-mail one of the FOV representatives in HK, and she said that they might release a 1/32 panther for 2012.

It would be nice to get some repaints of some tanks they haven't done in a while... At the same time, it would be nice to get some new toolings. Please, no more trucks.

I second that tmanthegreat, Unimax no more trucks!

I can see the 1:72 Panzer 38t and/or Hetzer being rescaled..

It would be wise financially, given the economic climate.

Any other guesses?

More modern! And Cold War! Please not just another Sherman.

I can't say I'm onboard with the "no more trucks" thing, my armies are a little tank heavy at the moment. I can go for some more trucks. I just wish there was still an "Action Grade" line which would offer $25 trucks (up from I think would have been the $20 price point they'd have gone for in 2005). I need convoys to protect, and something to haul spare fual and ammo with.

I did see something interesting at Target the other day, a large box, like 1/18 tank sized, with many 1/32 modern soldiers in it, lots of accessories, and a 1/48(?) Blackhawk. All in all, a nice little playset. The too small helicopter bugs me, but life will go on. Sorry I can't post pics. I had her take some, but they're on her phone, which is currently backpacking. I'll try to get the up next week.

How about a re-release of the 1/32 USMC Desert Storm M60 Patton?

From speaking with an FOV representative a while back, there are no plans fo any more FOV modern vehicles. If there are any modern releases it will be with the Bravo Team. Since Bravo Team is geared/intended for kids, I doubt there will be any Merkavas or LeClercs, etc.....

Perhaps some new infantry casting for WWII. A 1/32 puma wouldn't hurt either.

A Puma would be a excellent idea and I have to disagree about the trucks, there needs to be more soft skin vehicles, just my opinion.

And why not rerelease some others, the Zundapp sold well and is highly sought after as are others.

I am not for the complete banishment of soft skins either, I just don't want to see them exclusively. If I had to sacrifice and could only have one though, I would definitely vote tanks though. Best case scenario, I would love to see some Brit armor and soft skins. A churchill, cromwell, Bren/universal carrier and a Bedford QL come to mind.

A Bren and a Bedford is a great idea, I'm not against more armor releases, I would just like to see more support vehicles too.

Ok, remember when FOV had roughly three different sized vehicle offerings?

Big box = tank

Medium box = truck/halftrack/assualt gun

Small box = Jeep/motorcycle/****wagen

How about we aim for one of each per year? It doesn't seem to ambitious. If nicely spaced it would keep folks from getting all grouchy. It would allow for several price points to appeal to a variety of budgets. Just a thought. While I'm thinking, how about relaunching the Action Series? For those of us building armies rather than just getting one specimen to admire, Action Series was great. The lower cost certainly helped, but the lesser weathering was nice also. I'll weather my vehicles as I see fit, and I'll try to keep them all looking a bit different. I don't mind painting/decaling/customizing to make them look a little different, but it's easier to do on a $25 dollar item than a $50 item.

C'mon, Forces of Valor, show us diehards a little love...

And modern. Modern love.

That'd be awesome.

I hope that FOV can go back to including the base on their vehicles and better weathering and more accessories. Their vehicles are a far cry even from their 2004-5 releases. :(

Hobby Bunker has their Frontline tanks on sale for $43.99. These fit well with FOV. If you are looking for a Cromwell or a Churchill, here's your opportunity, They also have a Sherman and a Firefly. I recently purchased these tanks and am in the process of customizing them. These tanks originally sold for about $80.

Thanks for the tip, I went ahead and picked up the churchill (already had the cromwell). My only complaint about these tanks though are their polystone (?) construction, and non-movable tracks/hatches. Scale-wise though they do seem to fit will with FOV and 21st.
