Upcoming 1:32 Model Aircraft Kits

Post by Dauntless » Tue Feb 08, 2011 8:52 am

Was browsing the web looking for some Nuremberg Toy Fair 2011 news.

Looks like Hasegawa is working on a Mitsubishi Raiden.

There's more pics from the other model companies including what looks like the Revell HE-111. Though I had read over at Largescale that it's actually a scratcbuilt one and not the kit.

Well, I already have a Raiden (which thankfully I didn't pay outrageously for) but this will men cheap repaints and no more ebay gouges.

Of course those selling the original kits may not like this.

Yep, will probably see many dumping their Raidens on Ebay once this news gets out.
I am looking forward to getting a 1/32 Raiden even though I just built one in 1/48. I just hope it doesn't cost an arm and a leg like so many of Hasegawa's kits do.

I want to get one. I don't really care which, just as long as it's reasonable. The Hasegawa is bound to be very detailed though but pricey I'm sure.

Is the landing gear is retractable on the Revell Raiden CatCplslade?
I know they are on some Revell kits, which is kinda cool for us 21stC fans that like the option of both.

There's not much other news yet. I thought we would see a 1/32 Devastator from Trumpeter. :?

The kit doesn't seem to be out yet but there are already peeps selling alternate decal sets for it on ebay. They have them for the ETO and 3 different PTO.

Has anyone seen all the new resin add-ons for the Ju-88 available now? You might get 4 or 5 different birds out of the one kit now.

...checked that out now that you mention it. Lots of cool nose art. Interesting there's an OD green version of the P-61 with a bombardier bubble nose.

Seen the resin upgrade kit for the JU-88. I assume it's for a later model, though not a night fighter?

Too bad they don't make a Mistel version, it would be easy to get an excellent FW-190 already made to put on top huh?

Well, I've seen wing tanks, torpedo wing racks and bomb wing racks, a C-2 conversion plus some radar thing that juts out of the main canopy that was not made by CMK. Of course they have the obvious interior detail sets.

I suppose one could scratch out a Mistel version.

Yeah, all kinds of conversions listed, pretty cool, and torpedo racks. 8) Won't be long for the same on the HE-111 I'm sure.

On the JU-88 use the C-2 conversion, eliminate the gondola. Then make the racks to attach the FW-190, or BF-109. Watch someone will make one. You can see racks in pics of them, but the super detail of the attachment points would be a study. People have already made them in the other scales though.

The warhead version would be harder to do, but I'm sure someone will come up with a resin warhead and racks. I've seen one 1:72 conversion kit.

I'm glad to see all these awesome 1:32 aircraft coming out but sad because I cannot build models anymore, I have hand tremors and the finer the detail I'm trying to do the worse the tremor. I can't even glue parts in the right place sometimes.

Those are some awesome kits, and particularly like the 1/32 He 111. 8)

Don't build kits anymore, and that is why I like the prebuilt, and diecast models.

But appreciate and respect those can do a good job with one of these big models.

That's pretty cool, thanks for the info.

That's three German twins in a row. Revell is really getting into 1:32.

I do wish we could see some Allied twins eventually though, but I'm not gonna gripe.

Just ordered an He-111 for $67.94 shipped from California. Its the USA version of Revell-Germany's release with the only difference between the two being the box art and the decal sheet - which is supposed to have swastikas for the rudder.

Should have it next week. Now all I have to wait for are the B-25, B-17, P-61, Uhu, and Lancaster.

I have no ceiling space!!!

The Aims conversion line-up for the Ju88 is quite extensive now.
C-2
C4-6
S1
T1
188 and,
Mistel.
The C4-6 conversion with the wingtip and flap extensions is only $18!
