I haven't given up on diecast, however this 15 months ago I returned to model making as well as buying kit-makes on eBay and commissioning a number of special orders. I call this program my "gap filler" project as it is focused primarily on warbirds in the 1:72nd or 1:48th scale that I don't see the diecast makers touching in the near future. So far, it's been a very satisfying experience, involving about 35 1:48th scale birds and 45-50 1:72nd scale models. And Snake is right, the old modeling skills---despite a 10-12 year hiatus-----come back pretty quickly.

Very nice, I have several kits I have been holding off doing but I am ready to get back to it. I have a F9F Panther just begging to be finished and then I am going to tackle my big daddy a 1:350 Tamiya Yamato battleship kit.
