Favorite 72nd scale jet fighter.

Post by mosquitomania » Tue Oct 19, 2010 10:39 am

I have really gone nuts getting a bunch of 72nd scale jets lately. Witty Wings, Century Wings, and Hobby Master have really turned out some beauts. What is your favorite sitting in your collection? Mine is my red Japanese Air Force Witty Wings F-15 Eagle. I just love the look of that model. From the second I saw it in the package, I knew this was a must have for me. Hard to pick a favorite with all the nice models out there, but that F-15 really has a place in my heart. :)

My fav would definitely be the CW F-14 Tomcat! Just such a cool plane, with the swing wings and Phoneix missiles. Favorite scheme has to be the 1978 VF41 Black Aces: that ace of spade is just too cool on the tail, plus the unique black nose. But I do like the Eagle as well: I have the blue 50th anniversary scheme Witty Eagle, and she is a looker!

I only have a fraction of my collection displayed because of space

but the HM A-10 "Peanut" scheme HA1303 is the one that puts a smile on my face when I come home and see my babies

It just looks so good and deadly, and I don't really care its just an experimental paint scheme

Here's a pic of my Black Aces, along with my Showtime 100 (which I also like)

Although technically not a fighter, my favourite would have to be the 1/72 Century Wings SR-71. The plane looks uber cool. 8)

I'm just getting started in 1/72 diecast, and I only have a half dozen or so planes in my collection, but my favorite aircraft thus far would have to be this Century Wings "Green Knights" A-6 Intruder.

I like my Hobby Master 1:72 F-100 in the S1 scheme. Its a pretty standard and not-too-flashy aircraft, however, as I knew the pilot, the model tops my list.

Mine would be the Showtime100 F-4, only recently challenged by the new F-111.. 8)

Great looking bird you've got there. I've always liked the look of the HM "Joan of Arc" Mirage, maybe I'll have to get one. :)

A-6 VMA-121 Marines #0000 paint master. you say not a fighter! well when on a training mission the A-6 are sent out as sitting ducks for the F-14's but the fighters must use guns only. we had a Marine pilot who shot down a F-14 in training with his A-6 8) How sweet it was the Navy pilot was forced to do some funny stuff to pay for being shot down by an A-6 and a Marine to boot!

I am partial since the A-6 was my bird and i worked on those engines for 4 years in and out of the old bird

How cool is that.... 8) Awesome man. Look, in my opinion any bird that can sling an AIM-9 under it's wing and potentially shoot down an enemy aircraft is a fighter, no matter what it's primary role is.
