New 1/32 scale kit B-25J Mitchell

Post by JoeS » Fri Jun 11, 2010 6:50 am

semi-confirmed a B-25 Mitchell injection kit in 1/32 is in the works from a company in Holland. First reported on the Large Scale Planes forum;

http://forum.largescaleplanes.com/index ... 9593&st=75

judge for yourselves.....Doolittle raiders anybody?

It all came from a Dutch decal sheet in 1/32 scale to be released that let the cat out of the bag... Hannants in the UK have this so me thinks this is real for sure;

Pt Decal PT3202
1:32 B-25 Mitchell III and P-39Q French Air Force 1:32 scale Model B-25J: injection moulded, (no short run) available end of this year in Holland, More details later.

GREAT NEWS! thanks for the heads up JoeS ...now we wait...
The sign of a great model is that one’s eye is not drawn to any one feature, yet one can study it for hours and continually find something new.

Cool 8)

Yes, the Doolittle Raiders would be my first choice.

Though please don't take the guns out and put broomsticks in there.

I would like one too, but the "J" model is the heavily armed/solid nose version. I'll still take it though.... 8)

1/32 B-25

Post by kcraingb » Sat Jun 19, 2010 3:02 pm

The B-25J was manufactured in both the solid, gun nose, version and the glass nose version. I think the Dutch only flew the glass nose version and the company has released mainly Dutch aircraft decals in the past, so more than likely it'll be the glass nose. Plus there were over 4,000 glass nose versions built compared to about 800 solid, so if they want a wider appeal (i.e., more sales), it'll be the glass nose.

As for a Doolittle B-25 from a "J" version - it'll take some work. Maybe someone will release a conversion kit to make it a bit "easier." :-) The Doolittle Raid was flown with B-25Bs, so the turret is going to have to be moved aft and probably a myriad of other little changes.

1/32 Ju-88, He-111 and now a B-25. Can things like 1/32 C-47s, B-26s, A-26s, Do-17s and the like be far behind? :-)
