agreed! but all in all still worth having

I only saw that particular ME-262 at Toys R Us. Was it an exclusive?

For a $15 toy airplane (or $20 at TRU) I can live with the flaws. I do wished they'd have gotten to retooling them and the others like the P-51 though.

All of a sudden there's more Shangri La's on ebay after not seeing them forever.

I could be wrong, but I think that it's good to talk about the values of these planes in a way, then members or lurkers or whoever start putting them up when they find out what they're going for, so there's more to bid on.

It's a win win.

It gives me a warm feeling inside knowing I have at least one. :)

Of course I only saw one, or I would have bought more. It's my favorite 1:32 plane.

I wonder how much a "Berlin Express" would go for? It looks similar with the OD green, but has the bubble B/C canopy.
It just doesn't have all the cool plane art on it like the "Shangri La" though.

Watch dudes, these can only go up from here for the most part. :D

Another "Shangri La" went for $128.60
Now we're getting into 1:18 territory.

Add "Berlin Express" to the $128.00 list also.
That is 5 1/32 a/c that have gone over 80.00 in the last week.
I joked about 1/32 releases once as "training models" when XD was at its height. Seems those "trainers" are doing okay for themselves with 21st's demise and collectors scrambling to stock what they can.

I have at least one of every base release, i.e., F4U, P51B/C, P51D, P51D new mold, etc, and there are like 19 base models. I have more than one scheme for some of the bases (I have 24 of 21st Century's 1/32 planes. My dupes are based on color schemes I liked - Balkan Stuka and Libya Stuka w/snake spring to mind. I still have some I want like the ME109 nightfighter but I imagine they have just been propelled beyond my reach now.)

I have been supplementing my 1/32 with unbuilt kits plus both the BBI Navy planes. So far I have a P-38 Lightning built - my first model built in about 10 years so it is probably inaccurate as all Hell AND it took a tumble off my airbrush stand while I was applying the OD upperbody coat (I went with a camo model to hide the flaws in the silver plastic. It is the 1972 Revell model and it has some issues that exposed my rust in no short order. Still, hanging up there amongst the 21st stuff it looks okay). My next build attempt will be either a Beaufighter, a MiG-3, or an Oscar. I haven't decided yet. I need to seriously work on my airbrush skills first to see what I'm ready to tackle as far as camo, which is why I'm holding off on doing a Tony or BF-110 next. All told I have 11 aircraft not currently represented by 21st/BBI/Unimax and there are still a few more available I haven't picked up yet like the Mosquito and Hellcat. And the potential for repaints of stuff I already have is tremendous, especially for 109s, Mustangs, Stukas, etc. All that detailing nonsense and decal sets you can buy as well. Why it just goes on and on.

Yes, the models cost a bit more than the 21st I was getting at Wal-Mart, but they can be had for about what BBI initially wanted for the Dauntless and Wildcat. However, there are additional expenses associated with having to do the building and painting yourself, but that can be seen as more of a plus than a negative in some cases. Fortunately, I already had a lot of stuff left from my last incarnation as a modeler.

Ok folks, the 32X aircraft market is getting ridiculous now. I was watching this one Corsair, thought ah it's just a British one. This model shelfwarmed for a while.....WHAT!

Not really familiar with this particular plane.

But it would have to be very rare to spend that much on it.

Seems really high to me.

That is high. I saw another last week I missed out on but it only went for $45.

Doesn't seem like a normal price for it. I too have seen them go for in the $40 range recently.

The White tail and Big Hog Corsairs are more sought after it would seem.

Maybe they thought it was 1:18?
Shill bidding?
Newbie frenzy?

21st or whatever's left of it, or whoever has those mysteriously missing 32X molds should take note of these prices and start releasing 1/32 planes again.
But then the prices would go down again I suppose.
