Why?...because I want to buy a Jagdpanther. I've found photos of the three series, but FOV photos are usually unreliable in depicting what the real models look like. I'd like to see accurate photos of the Jagdpanther before I buy one.

Thanks for the link. I also found a photo of that one Jagdpanther at Badcat (which aren't always the most accurate, either). I couldn't find any great photos of the Normandy and Belgium Jagdpanthers to give an accurate idea of what their paint schemes look like compared to each other.

2 question/comment:

1. What unit does Jagdpanther #234 belong to?
2. Based on the photos I've seen, the Belgium Jagdpanther appears to be a somewhat different mold than the others---it has a lot more weathering/corrosion on the glacis plate and fenders.

This might not help you at all, but my personal favorite (and my favorite AFV) is the Belgium Jagdpanther. Very nice paint and weathering. I would go with that one. I don't own one since i sold the last one i had to my brother (which i am trying to get back but to no avail

) but i do own the 2 other models and they are not quite as nice (although they still rock). Anyways, my 2cents.

Well from what i remember of the Belgium (and looking at the pics) i would say you are wrong. I just took a gander at the Normandy and Germany models and the Normandy looks much more dirty than the Germany one and from what i can see of the Belgium, it looks a lot like the Germany one, front weathering wise... The Normandy one looks like it went to battle, although i don't especially like the camo pattern. But that's only my personal take on this. If you can, you should get all of em IMHO

I don't have a photo of my Jagdpanther (Normandy #131 version pictured above) but I will say that if you are looking into an FOV Jagdpanther, you are making a good decision. This, along with the T-34/85 is one of my all-time-favorite FOV 1:32 vehicles and ranks in my opinion as one of their best. It is VERY well detailed with lots of accessories, hatches, engine, and even a partially detailed interior where you can see the breach of the 88mm gun through the loader's hatch. The zimermitt is sculpted nicely as well. The only drawbacks are that the schurtzen are a little flimsy in the way they attach to the tank and the tow cables are brittle. Otherwise, it is an excellent model

Well, I'll be... Here I was saying I didn't have a photo of my Jagdpanther and one I took somehow appears

Good research.

The lighting in my photo above does not show off the weathering as well as it could. There is more weathering on the Normandy version than either the Belgium or Germany versions. The moulded on "mud" is the same on all versions, but it is colored better on the Normandy version. Also, the rest of the hull has a dark wash over the green and tan cammo scheme. The upper surfaces are lighter, however, and the barrel and gun mantlet are very much unweathered.

Dang that's too bad. I let one pass a few months ago...it sold for 34.99...kinda regret it today. I am looking around for a Tobruk Matilda (the all desert tan version) these days. I really like that tank and was pleasantly surprised when they modeled it.

The FOV Jagdpanther Germany model is rather good. The actual scheme is lighter than the product photo.

The FOV Jagdpanthers, overall, are one of their best models. Very fine detailing on the vehicle, weathering, moving parts and a lot of tools and accessories. They are true models, unlike some of the later FOV releases. I have the Normandy version (it was pictured above) and am all-around pleased with it.
