I went a building and buying spree during the last week. I built a few models as shown below. The B17G and Hurricane are 1:48. The B17 is a Monogram kit. It currently has "peg legs" as one of the struts was missing from the kit. Monogram is mailing the lost part. The Hurricane is a Pegesus kit. It is actually a snap-together kit I found for $6. It is simple and heavy and it goes great with the 1:48 21st Century planes.
This plane is a Westland Lysander kit from Revell. Pardon the fish line as I already had it hanging. It is 1:32 scale...
Finally, I picked up a few prebuilt models, all 1:48. The PBY is a Franklin Mint plane I recieved as a gift. It weighs a ton. The F3F is a Hobby Master model and very nice. The P36 Hawk is a Carousel Model and very nice too. Not much in the way of working features though.

Thanks for the post Krieglock. These look good.
I am afraid to buy any Franklin Mint models. If I start I will never stop and one could easily blow a few grand coming up to snuff.

It is the right colors but I am not sure if they modelled it after the Strawberry Five.Fox Tare-28 wrote:That PBY looks great Kreig. Is it "Strawberry 5" which spotted Nagumo's Kido Butai at Midawy?
A few places, like internet hobby shops are selling some Franklin Mint stuff at half price. It pays to do alot of looking if you want something in particular. The newer releases go for the higher prices naturally...
