HUGE Corgi sale at Tuesday Morning on May 6th!

Post by p51 » Tue Apr 22, 2008 12:15 pm

I was at Tuesday Morning today looking to see what they had on the Corgi front (and found those awesome battleship/carrier diecast ships at an amazing $9!) and only found a couple of Corgi things (a 1:32 Blackhawk being one). When I was checking out at the register, the gal said that the airplanes were going to be on sale May 6th. So she went and got me a upcoming ad and sure enough, ALL corgi will be on sale for really really really amazing prices on Tuesday, May 6th! It's a huge sale, for them, so they are opening early at 8am. She also told me there have a TON of Corgi in the back waiting to come out for that sale but they're not putting it out before the sale. So if you're near a Tuesday Morning on Tuesday Morning (he he) May 6th, it might be VERY your lucky day to get some amazing rock bottom deals on Corgi aircraft and other sets!

Thanks for the heads up! Rows, my local TM doesn't have great selection but when I checked their store finder on line I was surprised to see that there are four of them within a 30 minute drive. This helped out with the selection a little.

There are two TM stores in my area (as far as I know) one is cruddy, but the other gets the new items in, or at least some of them.

1/32 figures are a good bet.. 1/32 Planes are a possibility.. 1/32 tanks won't be there because Corgi doesn't make 1/32 armor..

Unfortunately from a customer of mine who happens to work at TM, it's pretty much more of the stuff we've seen in bits and pieces over the last year, no big bombers unfortunately!

I have been to every big Corgi sale that has happened within the last 5 years.. The first 2 sales were the best and the last couple have been "ok" but nothing like the first ones.. The last one was a big disappointment, but with lots of big planes this time around, it is a good possibility that we could see something good..

Anyways, the closer we get to May 6th, someone should be able to scope out the sale and let us know what to expect.. :D

I've caught 'em all as well, and nothing compares to the one we saw 2yrs ago with all those wonderful Corgi B24's, and lets not forget that awesome Franklin Mint dump many moons ago, I still have several M1's, Hummers, and Apaches from that sale, ahhh the good old days.

In regards to the 6th sale, my customer is supposed to compile a list when they get their next shipment in prior to the sale, and he'll email it to me, so I'll be sure to share the intel as soon as I have it.

Regards,
Todd

WGP Klaus, may I ask what Corgi B-24s go for at TM? I would love to get my hands on one below $100. 8)

A few years ago, I picked up Memphis Belle B-17 for $29.99.. IIRC, the Libbies a year later were going for $39.99..

So I stopped in at TM this morning and made out quite well. I picked up 4 sets of the 1/50 scale troopers all from different armies/divisions (at $9.99 each), a very nice 1/72 Mitchell from the Solomons ($39), and best of all a 1/32 Bf 109 with landing crew ($39)! They also had a bunch of the carded 1/72 WWII fighters at $14.99, plus a lot of the individual 1/32 figures each priced at $3.99. They had 1/72 nose art planes and a couple of Korean era choppers plus other stuff. I wish I could have afforded more! I may check another store at lunch time.
This is fun! :D

Hit another store at lunchtime. The "carded planes I referred to are actually boxed as the Warbirds series. The second store had them at $7.99 each. Big improvement. I picked up a P-51, a FW 109 in winter drab and a ME 262. I gotta stop doing this....

I picked up a ton of stuff too. Went to the two local Tuesday Mornings... 1:72 Blackhawk, a bunch of that Warbird series (B-17, RAF P-51, ME-262), 1:72 B-25, and 1:72 F-86F. Left a ton more there!

I scored pretty good at three stores. Picked up the 1/72 Marine B-25, 1/72 P-51 Nose Art "Down for Double", five of the Forward March figure sets- US Infantry Winter, US Paratroopers, US Infantry, German Paratroopers and British Paratroopers.
At the second got the 1/32 BF-109G with ground crew.
At the third got two figure sets, German Infantry and German Infantry Winter.
